Default Loud pipes question

Can copper do you at the roadside for loud pipes??

I know if they have "not for road use" or "Race use only" stamped on them they can.

I am getting told that if they don't have a bsau stamp on they can also do you.

Not sure what the charge actually is though? As coppers are not qualified testers, I thought they would have to get someone who is qualified to test the vehicle, or force you to have an MOT???

Admittedly they could then, if they wanted to be complete arseholes go over the whole bike and perhaps even fabricate some shit

Anything post 1987 must have the relevant BSi stamp however with a lot of OEM exhausts produced that do not have them I'm not sure on the legal standing of their use. I know MOT testers can use their judgement.

I think it must be stamped, "C1" seeing as we are part of the EU.

Bike exhausts on anything pre 1980 I think?? do not need a stamp on it. Could be pre 81 or 82?

Just think you could use any can you wish and swap cans around for variety.
A Stella can or Special Brew!
Minutes of fun!!!
