Default I knew it!.....

I bloody knew it!....Go and buy the first bloody car I see didn't I! Ok it's a Skoda Rapid 1.2 TSI 110bhp Sport! on a 65 plate with 31 k on the clock! got most of the bells and whistles I wanted. My Sat Nav I bought last year is now redundant as it has one. Auto light on, auto dim internal mirror. fukken cup holders! No CD player! All cars now have a USB port an SD Card slot for you to "download" your music onto the ICE!!!! so All my CDs are now redundant. So I've got to buy an MP3 ffs! Oh I can integrate my mobile phone in with the ICE.....oooooh shiiiiit I've just run into the back of another car!!!!! Oh he was doing the same thing as me! That's alright then! FFS technology! Nice car in white though! Complete with a years used car warranty and skoda assist! 8990 - got it for 7750! Chridt knows how much they robbed the previous owner for it! My old car will be in the next Auction I shouldn't guess!

Your CD's need to be ripped by a program like Nero (or find a free one online) and then transferred to a memory stick, that way you can play continuous tracks (leaving out the ones you don't care for) all day with repeating them. I usually have around 1,500 tracks to play at any one time.

I have a CD burner on the laptop, just never used it. How long does it take to copy a CD? The last tme I ever copied anything was an lp onto tape! and then you had to wait for the lp to play out! Each side! I have a load of 78 that I would lke to record onto a USB/CD/SD card. I just need a bloody machine and about a year full time to do it! not to mention my own LP collection!

Despite the Skoda jokes of the 70 and 80s. They always had a good reputaion and even won a few rallies in their time! I was a die hard VW Golf nut before I bought our first Skoda. An Octavia and it was bloody good! VW's are overrated, The trouble with Skoda's is that their reputaion still lingers after all these years and so the used value tends to drop like a stone, compared to VW, yet both marques (Yup, I can use flash wurds!) used the same under pinnings and engines!

Got me thinking now about one of those ...... but the hatchback version, they seem reasonably quick, good fuel consumption and lots of toys in the high spec ones

Microsoft media player will rip a CD to MP3 in about 5 minutes, or you can use CDex which is a freebie.

I use realplayer, this automatically rips a CD when it's first put into the computer.

Yep! Any of those are good and once they are ripped to MP3's then just drag and drop onto your memory stick. You can have them as albums so you can choose certain songs for certain moods or journeys or you can do what I do and just put the tracks you like as one list of songs and it will play them in order (alphabetical or numeric depending on how you have named them). Records need a special turntable that digitalises the music and feeds it to a matching program on the computer via a USB connector. If you had a bit more computer knowledge it would probably be easier to use a VPN and download the music straight from a torrent site. Then you can store your albums/tapes/78's away and never look at them again.

The Rapid is a Hatchback. Same as the Octavia, I'm not sure whether it's the later Octavia or the Superb but they are now with a tailgate that can either be a full hatch or a boot only opening option. All models are also offered in "Spaceback" versions as well. Or in an "Estate" version to you and me!!!...

Yes that's what I use to convert to mp3.
Although it's now illegal to copy our own cds for our use which we've bought.

When I looked at the photos of the Rapide I thought the body shape was similar to the Seat Toledo and then I read the article and they share the same body shell.
The Seat Toledo was or is a good car.

When has that stopped anybody. I believe that when you buy a CD it is your property to use as you wish, as long as you were not copying for others to use. It would be a poor state of affairs if, for the sake of argument, that you could not replace worn parts on a car or bike unless it was with the OEM parts........

Couldn't agree more.
All my CDs are now mp3 for my use in the car or personal mp3 player.
The record companies chose to use digital music files which are dead easy to copy.

I used to sell music and films to boost my piss poor wages and I believe that it is for this reason that CD's came down from around 16 a throw to around 6 and DVD's from 24 to around 10. Piracy didn't fund crime it reduced the crime of ripping off the public with overpriced products......
