Well it lives!............ again!

Just started it up after the bottom end rebuild, even had nearly 20psi after kicking it over a few times to prime it and get some oil around, fired up on the second kick, let it idle for a bit and oil pressure is 100psi cold and only drops to 60-70psi when warm at idle, so the pump was definitely the main problem,
not going to get a chance to take it out as its just starting to piss down here, and tomorrow is looking pretty shit.

I have ordered a Commando oil filter and head to fit as a bit of insurance and to help get more oil to the top end, will still have to see if i am going to need a cooler or not.

Don't understand it, the gears are not indexed correctly, and i have no idea why, did everything the same as i have always done, the only difference is that i had to re index the crossover shaft, but that was done as per a triumph drawing and should be correct, but i seem to have a box with more neutrals than gears.

Perhaps if you put them in the other way around all the neutrals will turn into gears? Just applying reverse logic like..... Don't ask me I've got no idea...

Well the dam thing is still fighting me, took it out again today and its trying to run on two, and one if it gets a chance, looks like the carbs are coming apart again, i suspect the float levels are making it over fuel and stopping it firing.
Wish it was still the 80s and i could just nip to a mates and pick up a nice set of Mikunies, but they seem to be hard to come by these days.

Couple of new pics, i have added a different headlight, adjusted the seat mount to get the front lower, and also wrapped the pipes, have also fitted a new larger 1/2" Harley master cylinder as the braking was a bit iffy on the rear, will add more pics soon.

Made a few other additions like digital voltage meter, and re fitted the carb bell mouths with the addition of some cone filters, like a lot of bikes it will be an ongoing project of refinements.

I particularly like the way you've colour matched your brake calipers to your hose pipe and reel. Not seen that done before

Did a quick tank repaint, just a rattle can job so not perfect but will do for now, also just took the misses out for the first time...loved it...apart from the large bumps, doing well, hard tails at our age.

It's amazing what you can do with a couple of tubes of smarties, a box of cornflakes, and an empty bottle of fairy liquid!.......
