Default Engine paint?

Can you share what engine paint you use and is it any good or not?
I've tried VHT spray paint in black and it just doesn't go where you want it to and it always comes out a matt grey not black.

But thankfully a mate put me onto "Granville Cylinder Black" and its excellent.
I bought a 100ml tin of brush paint at first thinking nahh that wouldn't cover much.
Well it bloody well did ! Incredible coverage.
Although its brush applied you would never know and its also quite thin paint.
The way it goes on defies all known laws of paint.
You have to watch the paint runs because it is quite liquid, but that helps when you want to get it into corners or hard to reach places.
It is brush applied though, so you need some long artist style brushes to get inbetween engine fins on air cooled engines.

I've used VHT aerosol paint Satin black and as long as you mask off the area outside of the bit you want to paint I've found it ok for me. Or there's good ol' Hammerite smooth......

The best way is to take the engine out and do it properly.
But I improvised and painted it in frame.
