I have trawled through literally thousands of military photos on my computer and this is the only Red baron photo I could find. I don't know if this is his bike 'Lola' or another bike he owned or even somebody else's that he was posing with. I believe the make of bike is a Voss, though I don't know the cc. it looks rather small, possibly around 350. Hope that helps.

I have a feeling it was a spoof. I think Blue ran a series of old photos that had been photoshopped, of famous historic celebrities on various bikes. This was when she worked for the Dark Side. But don't hold a gun to my head,,,not just yet anyway.

This is one of Blues creations and another was the Whermacht BMW and sidecar with the sausage grill in it and the Officer sporting an apron and fork.

Here is another member of Richtofen's Bike Gang, firstly in WW2 and the later when he rode as the Red Barons Sergeant-at-arms.

Here's a picture of The Red Barons wing man I found after trawling through around 15,000 pictures. He is on a British bike captured after their 2nd. 'Let's take France' Rally........

And this is what France looked like after the 1st. Let's take France rally.

Notice the boys of the RFC. MC who managed to kick them out. The rally caused so much distress to the locals that it was 22 years before they were allowed the 2nd.

That's Werner Voss.

Interesting, several of the better known early fliers on both sides had motorcycles.
Need for speed? Adrenalin junkies?

Back then, more people had motorcycles than had cars!

Motor cars were for the rich and motorcycles were much more of a middle class thing in the early days. Most working class people either used public transport, bicycles or shanks' Pony. Not until around WW2 did motorcycles become affordable to working class people and the rods began to fill with solo and sidecar machines depending on how big a family you had.

My mistake, it was titled Red Baron, so I thought it was him. I knew Voss (of Blohm & Voss) made aero engines and assumed the bike was a Voss. Many aircraft manufacturers made motorcycles in the early days, such as BMW.
