Default Hello from the Kingdom of Fife

Hello from the Kingdom of Fife .
One of my names is Fifer and I am knackered due to carrying British engines in a haversack on my back for too many years .
The forum has a nice feel to it .

Ladies and gents - well, members of this forum - this man is a true gent, welcomed me to his home having never met me except online, helped me to unload my trike from the towing dolly, then led me further north through Dundee cos it was tricky with the roadworks, where I said cheerio and headed to Aberdeen to catch the ferry to go to the Simmer Dim rally.

He looked after my car while I was away, then helped me to load the trike again for the long tow down to the south coast - all assisted by numerous cups of tea!

Cheers Pete!

No condolences required
Have you not used the sitting in the chair method , or the reverse missionary or the stand up and bruise the dog positions ?

John , since your mind is now clean and sharp from the bleach, perhaps you might be able to help me with a choice I have to make ?

Next year will be my 30th wedding anniversary which is named the Pearl Anniversary .
Should I give my wife a Pearl necklace or a tube of toothpaste for her Pearly whites ??

Anyway , thanks to all for the warm welcome lads and lassies ; it is much appreciated
.
Pete

As well as being a Right Creep I am also a Left creep and a Middle Creep .
In fact , I have a degree in creepiness .
I am so adept at creeping that the only folk that see me coming are women

There is an very old saying which goes
" It taks a lang spin tae sup wi a Fifer "
Translation ;
" It takes a long spoon to sup with a Fifer "
All that meant was that Fifers kept themselves to themselves

The vast majority of Fifers are now very welcoming to most folk .

Thanks for the welcome
Pete

Hold on a minute..

Ok ..so you've got a spoon that is 3ft long..Is the bowl of food 3ft away..

So you can reach the food with your long spoon but now you have to get it into your mouth which is not 3ft away..but the Fifer is..so you can feed him but not yourself..

Stupid idea..

Move the bowl closer, use a short spoon, or go somewhere else to eat..

John.

Or: change your grip on the spoon so the bowl (of the spoon) is closer to yer gob. Lateral thinking

Been here 20yrs now. Think the village I live in has excepted me by now. My grandkids are born and bred fifers as is my daughter, so ties that bind an all that. Great place to live and great biking roads.

Yep , lateral thinking is the way to go
The spoons were 6 feet in length from the tip of the handle to the tip off the bowl .
The wise thing was that they bent them 180 degrees at 3 feet so that the tip of the handle was parallel with the tip off the bowl .
But the best part was that the Fifers only let the wise ones into their lives ;

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
the ones who ignored the long spoon and just went over and got a normal spoon and then paid for everybody,s meal .
.

Aye , Fife is a great place to live and the roads are varied .
Some of the best roads lead to the Anstruther Fish Bar
Other roads lead to Knockhill Racing Circuit and , sadly , the now defunct Road Races around Beveridge Park
.

Couldn't agree more. And at least they are trying to get bike events up and running again at the park.
