The Co-op in general is on the verege of going bust, not just the bank! So it's probably a case of they pay peanuts and employ monkeys.

I have a Co-op dividend card and recently got a letter which proclaimed on the envelope "Exciting news about your share of the Co-op profits"

Inside the letter said ' we haven't made any profit this year so your share is nothing.'

I think the Co op has just bought the TSB, I immediately cut all my accounts down to 12p so they couldn't steal from me..I just don't trust them..

If there are many others with my attitude it's no suprise if they are going broke.

John.

Thats the second time I've heard that about the Co-op... They are doing the same trick to staff that JJB sports did when it was going under...

AFAIK that's incorrect, the Co-op initially intended to go through with the purchase last year, but withdrew. The TSB is currently a stand alone back owned by Lloyds, who intend to float the bank this year via an IPO (initial public offering, similar to the recent royal mail share floatation), which is scheduled for the middle of 2014.

http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.u...insurance.html

I would have made the Insurance Ombudsman my first port of call.
As far as I am aware, there is a code of practise the insruance companies have to adhere to and the Ombudsman acts as arbitrator in these instances.

out of interst - just how many of you having issues pay monthly ?

I used to till, I sopke to someone in the industry that those paing monthly premiums are ripe to have there policies canceled for little or no reason and they can charge you a cancelation fee!

since then I pay the full premium up front! and touch wood not had an issue

I always used to go online and compare the cheapest quote, but got ripped off by bennetts a couple of years ago. My van is with an independent broker as they specialise in American stuff, and since dealing with them for the van I find it a lot easier to let them do the lot.

I speak to a nice lady called Claire, if the renewal seems high I can ring her and she will look at ways of reducing it. 5 phone calls on my bike insurance this year (her ringing me) and we finally got it to 65 for the year.

It should have been more... they left us stranded with no access to our bank account for a whole month... it was scary how little they gave a stuff for our daily struggle to actually live.

I know Pat - not belittling your problems cos I've been there - but it seems to me if they messed you around and had to pay, they'll have done it to others as well, and THAT's why I'm not getting a dividend!

It was really annoying as I've tended to go slightly out of my way to fill up the car at the co-op as well, thinking it was pushing my points up!

I got ripped off by Express! At the time I'd just bought a new Suzuki and they were doing a deal on them, I gave them all my details, explained that I did have another bike but I would be keeping it, agreed a price-175- and paid for my years insurance. When I got my bank statement through though I found they'd taken 225 so I phoned them to find out what had gone on, they told me that it was for all the extras I'd asked for-like accidental injury and continental recovery etc. This was all news to me and since I don't even have a passport why would I even want that recovery insurance! They then went on to say that unless I cancelled the insurance on my other bike and let them insure it they'd have to charge me another 150 as they reckoned I was getting a no-claims discount I wasn't entitled to. Obviously by this time I had no faith in them and wasn't about to be blackmailed into giving them more business so agreed they could cancel my insurance. The one thing I didn't do though was find out how much this would cost and the cancellation fee, admin charges, and the cost of the 2 weeks insurance I'd had added up to-225 so basically they just had all my money
I learnt from my mistakes though and I'm a lot more careful-and very specific-when dealing with insurance companies these days!
