Cool registering a trike bolt on kit

I have been down to my local DVLA at Northampton and wanted to book a home visit for the usual numbers check and was told they no longer accept or take bookings as they have just been informed that VOSA have been handed the job as of october i know that all DVLA offices are going to be closed by the 13th December 2013. Does any one no whether we have to book through Swansea or the nearest VOSA center if so is this going to be a SVA test and how much is it going to be?

I think it's all going to be DSA in future.

John.

they told me VOSA have all vehicle related inspections just to put the topping on the cake, didnt think that DSA had anything to do with that sort of thing worth an enquiry.

DSA and VOSA are in the process of merging into one organisation.
VOSA have been doing the 'numbers check' for certain categories of kit car for a while,
Best bet would be to contact VOSA to ask where and how much.

We've just been told this is gonna happen.

Yup Vosa ans DSA are merging. Our chief exec has asked for sugestions for a name for the new organisation, I sugested DAVE the Driver And Vehicle Executive.

DVLA are closing their local offices so VOSA (DAVE) will be taking over the job of pre registration checks. There is no sugestion of ramping it up to SVA or IVA but the check will be done at Vehicle Identity Check sites.

No mention of us doing home visits.

No mention of what happens when we close all our sites.

Our senior management are very good at not thinking too far ahead.

makes sense really, should have been done like that long ago

always pissed me off that you do an MSVA and then have to have it inspected by some spotty oik at the DVLA.

especially if the DVLA decided they wouldnt play ball and look at it the same day as the MSVA, Exeter they are across the road from each other.

I personally think that swingarm conversions should have MSVA anyway

We (VOSA) have bee told we will be doing these checks at some of our sites.

The DVLA will tell you that the check has to be done and supply the forms.

VOSA contact you to make the appointment.

This is a temporary measure while DVLA tender the job to the private sector.

Gizza job mister.
