The A470 leads to Brecon and Llangorse then back by the mountain road to the A465..

If any of you haven't done Wales yet you are missing some great roads..

A470 to Brecon, A40 towards Abergavenny, B4560 to the lake at Llangorse, stop for tea, continue to Talgarth then back down through the twisties on the A479 to Tretower, back on the A40 to Crickhowell, then the Llangattock road to rejoin the B4560 to Beaufort and back up to the A465 and home..

And it didn't rain..

John.

I just blagged myself an early finish too.

I'm off from work (Pontypridd) to Pontypool and across to Usk. Then I'll take the twisty road to Chepstow coming out right by the racecourse. Then there's a lovely road through Tinterna nd following the river up to Monmouth. From there it'll be a nice little run through the Forest of Dean towards Gloucester and back to Ross. From there it's up to Malvern for a cuppa and a bite in the cafe up there, and then over the top to Hereford and Abergavenny. P stop and then a choice of Heads of the Valleys, Crickhowell & Brecon or back the old road to Pontypool and back home :-) Happy days.

I've got the reverse of that trip in my book, Monmouth, Trelleck church, left down the little forest road to Llandogo, on to Tintern station, past the Moon and sixpence to Tintern Abbey, Chepstowe Castle, and on..and on.

The moon & sixpence looked particularly appealling tonight too John.

After a bit of faffing and my mate having his son phone him panicking that he thought he'd bought a house, but had only put an offer in LOL. We ended up only going to Usk first, then down to Tintern, up to Monmouth for sausage in batter and chips by the bridge at the bottom of town. Then back through town and to the left towards gawd knows where, but a lovely road that goes past the Bell in Skenfrith and on past a posh restaurant called 1861 (Or something) and the Walnut Tree, and into Abergavenny for a cuppa. Then back home across to Brecon and down past Terry's (Very grey and misty up there).
Apart from it being busy around Ystrad Mynach and Pontypool it was a cracking ride out. Loved it
