I'm back home.

Had to strip the bike in sainsbury's at Western super mare after the slow ride along the sea road overheated it..

Yes I gained two days because of problems and early starts, First problem I left my alarm clock behind so got up between 5 and 6 in the mornings, B&B breakfasts are usually about 8 so I started long before that and had almost 60 extra miles under my belt than I expected, another problem was the B&B I had booked near Edinburgh hadn't got a room when I got there so I rode another 70 miles south before stopping, The next morning I started before the rain and then it poured down, I couldn't stop to take photo's so I opened her up and counted the 100 miles between filling stations, I got so wet I knew nobody would let me stay the night so I kept going to my daughters home in Felixstowe..474 miles..She peeled off my leather jacket and shirt and took my boots off along with at least 2 pints of water and I managed to get under the hot shower..20 minutes later I was still shivering....And when I arrived at Western Super Mare where I had planned to spend my last night the bike boiled over and I had to strip it down in sainsbury's car park to refill the coolant..I decided to carry on home.

BASTARDS! What happened to the B&B? Was that one of the ones booked at mine?

Well done on the trip though, still a bit of an epic.

Surprisingly hot showers are not very good for warming you up as they draw heat out of the body. Warm clothing, blankets, and body heat are the recommended methods.

One of the problems I had was using the internet..I carried a cheap Netbook and most of the time it just would not connect..If I had carried anything decent either the rain would have ruined it or I would have been upset if it had been stolen..

This was quite amusing, I arrived there only to meet another biker couple who were just leaving, I asked if they had at least taken a photo, the man said yes but it was difficult getting a photo without getting at least one of the many Japanese wandering all over the place..So I called them all over and made them line up for a group photo..like a sergent major..they looked a bit shocked but obeyed..they were Chinese from one of the city planning department.
