Default Ride down to Austria

Had a trip to Austria last week, right over to the eastern side, bout 20 miles off the Slovenia border, 5 days and 2500 miles, and no hanging around, most of the way back in lashing rain, 6 Harleys. Me only preparation was to top me oil up and wash me bike. All that was required on getting home, was to wash it again, and change me oil, as was everybody else's.
God i wish we rode reliable bikes, not these ol' tractor pose-mobiles.

That kind of mileage has got to be tough on the body, never mind the bike. What seat are you using cos my spine has had more than enough after 200 miles?

Well it aint no touring seat that's for sure. Me spine takes it well, cos i got apehangers on so me arms are holding me up, not me back. And i got floorboards, not pegs, which are pretty forgiving. But it does knock fuck out yer 'arris after a few hundred miles.

That doesn`t inspire me, as I have a boring 353 mile ride from the Zeebrugge ferry down the autoroutes to Dijon to look forward to in 18 days time
Then I`ve got daily rides of around 150-200 miles each day for 20+ days there after.

I wouldn't worry too much. I think my back's fucked from bricklaying and hod carrying. I was hoping Taff was going to say he had a padded touring seat, but that thing's bloody spartan. Look out for me at a BMW dealer soon.

That was quite a run Taff.

I did a pretty good ride couple of weeks ago. About 300 miles in a day and we were not hanging about. Was OK until about 35 miles from home, stopped for fuel, then it really caught up with me. Could barely move next day LOL. BUT BY FUCK IT WAS FUN.

Got another long ride next week. Several hundred miles this time, just hope the weather improves. This weekend I shall be making sure the bike is all OK.

I am thinking of making a new seat for my FXDB Streetbob maybe put a bit more padding in it. May have to get rid of the apehangers as well. Shame 'cos I love the way it looks.

Must be my age............ or metal fatigue.
