pan has now gone to germany, didn't manage to get any pics of it fully completed, but it's not too far off done here....

firestorm's been thru a few changes, nearly done now, should be complete in about a fortnight. re-done the top tube and front side rails, re-made the tank smaller, rear 'guard, made new bars, slabs, new oil cooler on braided lines, stainless tank under the seat will have the fuel take-offs on it, the 'normal' tank is just a header tank, linked with fat braided hoses. mikuni HSR flatslide carb off harley on 2:1 polished stainless manifold.
paint is irridescent blue over satin black on frame, the camera flash makes it 'pop', it's more subtle in sunlight. same blue on wheels and tank/guard, but with a green pearl flip over the top. gold and silver holographic flake mixed for the pinstripe.

Hand on heart, I can say that's probably the only ever 535 I've liked the look of. Virago logo on tank would have to go though.

Beautiful job mate. Bars aren't my thing, I would have gone with either straights or drags but apart from that mate, fucking brilliant.

i tired straights, drags, harley beach bars... none of them looked right, so for a laugh i balanced the apes on the top yoke. they stayed there.
just balanced, stainless on ally, so no magnetism or anything, on the top yoke with the bike on it's side stand, outside, in a busy industrial estate, in force 3-4 wind, vans and lorries driving past, people walking close past the bike, and they just stayed there, balanced. for over 3 hours 'til i took them off.

weird.

so they had to go on, really.

and i think they really suit it.

update.......

paintwork was too gaudy, gone back to satin black. gotta move the sidestand up a bit, it ploughs furrows on left handers.
the stainless auxillary fuel tank under the seat split and sprayed fuel all over the rear downpipe. gonna do away with it and fit a leather pannier on the left side with a fuel cell in it. wasn't sure if i'd take to the bars or not, but they're great!!!
handles fine as long as you avoid the big pot-holes, single HSR 40mm flatslide mikuni on my home made stainless manifold works a treat, i guessed the jetting and got it spot on first go! (pilot screw 1 3/4 turns out, needle on centre clip, 2mm drill thru the main jet), no hesitation, no flat-spot, pulls like a train, goes like f*ck.

I really do like that, in honesty I dont know why, I just do

think its the pointy shiney bits

so refreshing to see something thats, just that bit different, not the normal choice of motor, or lines in the frame tube etc.

but I do like it, however I doubt my lil midget arms could reach them bars LOL

is this your ride or for someone else

just realised how much of the paint you have changed, damn, how do you bring yourself to get rid of such a lovely job on the frame

cheers m8, those 'shiney pointy bits' are needle sharp, i'm covered in scratches and gouges!!!!
it's mine, i think it'll stay mostly like it is for a while, i quite like it, it's got real characture, a bit like a WWI bi-plane!
the paint was cool, but the prep was a bit rushed due to trying to get it done by easter and i wasn't happy with it, and i'm not one for gaudy bikes....
the hi-gloss flames are set off well against the satin black.
