Default Very cheap panniers

Last week I ordered a pair of leather panniers for my old shadow.

http://www.mandp.co.uk/productinfo.a...er3url=Tirmizi.

under 26 inc. P&P so I had to have a go..
http://www.mandp.co.uk/clearance/pro...uggage/Tirmizi
They arrived today..four days from order..parcel post.

They are really good quality but they will need a good coat of dubbin or shoe cream because they are just dyed and a single trip in the rain will spoil them..

they even sent me a five pound voucher off my next purchase of anything over 20.

John.

Just bought a 50p tin of shoe polish and gave them a liberal coat inside and out paying particular attention to the stitching..just leave it a day or two to dry and then a quick polish with a dry brush to finish them off..must have used half a tin..so 25p..oh well hang the expense..

nikwax is the thing for waterproofing leather and keeping it in good condition.
a tad expensive at 3.99 for a 100 ml tube but a little goes a long way.

Leder Griss is the stuff you want. That stuff is really water proof and leather loves it.

the set I got was 12" high by 7 1/2 deep by 14" to 15" long.. Quite thick and for a tad under 26 I can put up with conchos..but I want them to last so I bootpolished them inside and out..

You did realise that there is a choice of 10 different styles..a drop down box on the part number.

The panniers have already gone from the M&P website

If you have friends in the USA, ask them to send you some Mink Oil
http://www.footgalaxy.com/Kiwi-Mink-...B000PSDFU4.htm

I don't think you can buy it outside the US, probably something to do with ' the European Court of Animal Rights' deciding that it is cruel and 'not' nice' to put a mink through a mangle to extract the oil

Mink Oil is really good leather treatment and waterproofing. I used to buy it from the US Px for my Matterhorn army boots and it is very, very good.

The way our postal service handles boxes now it would probably just end up as oil anyway..

I used to skin mink for a living..
