Default Honda Fury

The Honda Fury is launched by Honda UK this week end.

I just can't make up my mind about it. Looks good from some angles, crap from others. Something not quite right about it but I can't put my finger on it. Maybe the bulky rear fender and ugly pipes.

US price... $12999, UK price 12,071. Welcome to rip-off britain

I think it looks pretty good for a factory effort. The pipes would be the first to go.
As you say though, taking the piss with the price as usual.

It should be 10k and it should have the 1800 lump!

Might go and have a nose at one next weekend

In our club people keep buying wildstars. We're worried we'd have to change our name to WOG

Its already started un the US...

That being said, it looks like they are already tacking the ugly fender and pipes issue over there.

I agree it should be 10K though. I can't see them selling many for 12K+

With those pipes and fender it should be named the Fugly. Has potential though.

Default better bikes

I couldn't understand someone buying the honda when you can buy a victory 8 ball for under 8500 OTR .These bikes have good brakes, powerful engines and quality finnish. If I had enough money and wanted a new v twin factory custom I would buy one of these.

It looks like they have styled it to make you look at all the wrong features.

The Victory looks so much better

Do you think the nicked the design from Big Dog motorcycles!

Gotta be honest, id rather ride that than many other factory bikes, and definately more than any sports bike on the road, change the pipes and maybe the bars and it wont be bad looking at all and at the end of the day who wants to keep a bike standard.

Its a mystery to me as to why a bike with 80's forks and frame tech, two cams, two pistons, two carbs is two and a half grand more than a bike with race bred upside downies, race rear shock, four carbs, four pistons, higher spec tyres, zippety doodah electronics, etc etc etc.

Somebody is being ripped off and I think its the guy with the tassels...

You only get ripped off if you buy it. if you like it or not would you pay over 12K for it? In the US its less than 8. That is much more like it for a bike of this type.

If nobody buys it (and going by the the lack of crowds at the launch at Pidcocks this week end that is a possibility), one of two things will happen.

1) the price will drop to something more realistic

2) they will pull the bike from the UK model range.

It's called 'economy of scale'.

At least in Europe, sports bikes outsell stuff like the Fury by a pretty considerable margin.

I went along to have a look at them at the local dealer the other night.

The headstock doesn't look strong enough to me. All the chrome parts are actually plastic, including all the engine covers. Liked the fat back wheel. Couldn't help thinking it is a modified copy of a Zodiac kit bike.

It is a 12000 bike and still has rubber brake hoses! Chrome around parts of the forwards was shocking. Too much plastic and way too expensive.

For 12000 you could buy a decent used Harley, spend a bit on goodies and still have money left over. You would also have a bike that will hold its money.

I will NOT be buying one. Not impressed at all.

Chopper.
