Apparently he's bought a CB250 and it wont run or now even start!!!

Can't really knock him for buying a bike, but a 69 CB250 well what does he expect it's 40 years old. the only reason for someone like him buying a bulk produced small engined 40 year old bike is to keep it in the garage. I could understand a Virago 535 or an EN400 or even a Golden Flash or Matchless. but the old Honda already 'fully restored' wouldn't tick any of my boxes.

Still at least he's having a go.

he has an ancient honda 90 too and a wonderful guzzi v7.

Its rare to see a early CB250 in good condition now days, when they are in good fettle they are very rapid for a 250 much faster than the later ones.You still see loads of Virago 535 about. Nice little bikes but not different.

They certainly were rapid. I had one that rotted pretty rapidly indeed.
