Default Engine heater

I read in a thread last week I think, someone mentioned using a heater under the engine of their VN. I noticed in the cold weather we been having that my Marauder struggles bit in the cold. The oil viscosity is correct so I'm just guessing it is the cold cranking ability. Can anyone tell me what type of heater they use 'under the engine'?

Cheers
Ian

if it turns over slower in the cold, its more likely to be the chilly weather affecting your batterys ability to keep its charge. id get an optimate battery tender rather than a heater.

I agree its more likely to be battery/ leads/ connnections, but the usual way to preheat your engine is an element in your cooling system with a reostat to reduce the water temp to below boiling
