Default Band needed

Ok guys, i am in need of a band for the Saturday night at the Blagit n Bodgit rally in October (see flier in rallies forum), i have scoured our area and come up with zilch. Though i am still waiting for a few to get back to me and still looking.

I am keeping it simple, little point spending loads on bands when every one is out side smoking and drinking all night so i have DJ Dom for the weekend and i am having one band on Saturday night, this will also allow me to put more in the charity bucket

What i am looking for is a reasonable rock covers (or similar) band, i have a sound engineer and a largish function room with stage. Unfortunately i am governed buy a budget of around 250 which round here will get me a fairly good band, but most are booked or have members on holiday at that time, damn inconsiderate...

I will throw in free entry for the weekend for the band members should they fancy rallying for the weekend if they are coming from a distance.

I will need to hear a sample IE: youtube, myspace etc, as trusting as i am i wont book on a say so...

Cheers

we've used them a few times an' they'll be back for the Summer Breezer in a couple of weekends. They may well do it for what you're offerin'.

or you could try these

if you have a while have a rummage through the Myspace friends on this site:

http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...4-de7bd403b407

Its the battle of the bands I'm involved in - All of the acts are within spitting distance of Bristolmost of the bands are young and enthusiastic, and will play for buttons. Some of them (Blue Bullet for example) are cracking metal bands.

On completely the other end of the scale, the lead singer from this band lives near Bristol and is fecking genius. Does a belting show tih his missus on washboard (don't mock - it has to be seen to be believed!)

you can try HIGHWAY they are from birmingham area. They are lads that are aged between 15-17 but make covers sound good and look real easy to play.
the double drat mcc used them at there partys, mingers had them at their ralley and ive seen them other places. They had people up dancing every time.http://highwayrocks.tk/
