[QUOTE=pagan_flame;416303]A lot of RC's and BC's start as splitoffs from an MCC. Not saying every one is, but I can name quite a few...

As people get older and a club has been going for a few years, there will start to be cliques forming. Whereas in the beginning EVERYONE was rallying EVERY weekend - now some are rallying occasionally due to family, work or personal commitments.

Let this fester for a while, and eventually it will come to a head with 'No-one pulls their weight in this club any more we never get any club turnout trophies' and similar whingeing from the Still Rallying Every Weekend clique.

Sorry, but if you go to rallies to win trophies, you're going for the wrong reason, and maybe you shouldn't be involved in any kind of biker organisation in the first place.
That's a crap attitude to have!

As far as i can see it`s quite simple, on one level you have mcc, rc,bc, brotherhood, sidepatch, semi-sidepatch(ffs!) then on another level M.C. easy!

ie, MCCs who dont wanna be known as such, cos they're 'different', playing at being MCs.

Also, think on how easy / difficult you want it to be for new members to join.

I have been in clubs where all you had to do was turn up to 4 club meetings and you were in... and another where a full year prospect was required.

Generally if it is the former, you end up with a core membership who do all the work and a large group of people who are just in it for the patch. You'll know the second group, as they are the ones who rarely show up if there is any work to be done but moan loud and long at the slightest provocation.

The latter club, with a 'prospect' period, will be a group of true 'brothers', as if you have spent time regularly with anybody for a whole year you get to know them pretty well - by the end of the year both sides will know if full membership is the right thing.

For a BC / RC / social MCC, a good halfway measure that worked was that the initial 'getting to know' period for a new member should also include at least one weekend rally - I have known some people who are as nice as can be when sipping soft drinks on club night and then turn into the nasty 8rsehole from hell as soon as they get half a shandy inside them.

And when they do kick off at a rally, the host club will be looking for someone with the club patch on for an explanation...

The other bit to this is...."if the club you're in changes their ethos/agenda etc," get out & leave them to it

Just an observation, as was my last post, but I'd have thought sensible etiquette should be observed - no matter what "tag" you hang on a club, it's still a club. Normal rules, conventions, call 'em what you will, still apply? Just a matter of respect isn't it?

having been in a number of clubs(MC & MCC) I have to agree with shifty here. The only difference being so called MCC's with agenda's to be bigger than their boots. It's all a matter of integrity & repect

The only clubs I've been in have been the ones where they organise a ride to a rally, and fuck off into the distance, leaving you to find your own way. So much for sticking with your mates???

I've seen the bigger clubs ride - they tend to stick together - not like their imitators. I'm too selfish to be in a club anyway; I prefer my own company or with a couple of trusted individuals - no more
