The only downside to having it at the Rugby Club, is that the music will have to finish at 12.............
That is a real downside..............
The rugby club will have a licence for music til that time, but you can ask the club to apply for a TEN (Temporary Events Notice) which would allow them to exceed the normal licence hours. Obviously the cost would probably need to come out of funds, but i dont think its much, and if the authorities are aware of you already then you shouldnt have bother - is the club near housing or is it fairly out of the way? I spoke to a friendly licencing bod at our local council when I was researching for Creatures do - just generally finding my feet etc and he gave me a lot of help and background info which was very useful to know in the long run

Yep, a Temporary Event Notice is a possibility Juke. Even if the Live music has to end at midnight a concession could be made to keep the disco going allbeit at a reduced volume.

If you do get the rugby club, play by the rules for the first one and see what the reaction is, if it's favourable then you could very well have a permanent site for future events.

Just be diplomatic, yeah?

Am I not always diplomatic?????????

Ok, well 'be nice, till it's time not to be nice' hasn't always worked for me, but I do try my best.

A temporary event notice can last for 96 hours, costs 22, and allows you to have live music and sell booze for the whole of the 96 hours.
But you can't have one for a premises that already has licensing conditions on it.

Dont forget that different local authorities have different interpretations of the rules.
