Default Seeing as it's rememberance sunday tomorrow,

I wanted to take the kids to Duxford, but it's like 30 for me and the missus( although the kids go free), and I didn't have enough cash for that, so we went to the RAF museum in Hendon. They liked the Harrier, but sadly, their fav was the yankie P51 Mustang

just cos it has donald duck on it!!

Not sadly at all, it was a British design with a British engine.

But with it's original Yank engine it was underpowered at altitude.Wasn't so much a British design as a Sherman design built to a British specification. Also, the Merlin engine fitted was licence built by Packard in the States.

Makes me laugh, Hatfield was the home of BAe, and made many aircraft, but there is no museum to it in Hatfield, you have the mosquito air museum in London Colney, but it's crap!!

All museums should be free paid for by either the government or the lottery, .What is the good of having a heritage if you can't afford to see it......John
