Worth telling again, many years ago I was in the Hole in the wall borough hi st, when some geezer wandered in and asked if anyone knew anything about GT380s he was pointed in my direction and he explained it was running odd. I went outside with him and sat on the bike, then kicked it over, it sounded like it was missing on the middle pot, I asked if I could have a go and he agreed, a lid was handed to me and I gave it a handfull and dumped the clutch.... I went 2 feet stopped dead and the front came up and hit me in the face knocking me backwards on to the railings..... to which the 380 was chained by its rear wheel

It ripped out half the spokes and smashed the tailpiece, the tank was dented and I had a load of bruises.... the geezer had stood there and not said a word for some reason... he collected his bike and bits and wobbled off never to be seen again.

I set off on my Blackbird with a disc lock on. It smashed the bracket that holds the caliper to the fork. 114 later....

Did just the same on me Night Rod... 160 for that one (new lower).

I got meself a 'wally wire' now - attach it to the lock and the other end to the bars, saves you forgetting.

3 quid = a lot cheaper than repairing the b^gger again!

I left my disc lock on in Ripley during last years Rock and Blues, luckily it was a cheap visual deterrant type of lock and not a proper one, it shattered the lock and left a bit of dayglo disc lock paint on the disc but that was all, and obviously there were loads of people around so yeah, it WAS embarrasing!

I was lucky to the fact that I set up mi chain so that I would notice it was on... Still didn't stop the damage though!

Only goign to cost me 100 or so to fix so I've asked them to put the new tyre that I was going to get anyway on.. So in real terms it should be just for parts cost...

That'll teach me.

Done it with a disc lock on the front a few years ago.

Rev rev dump clutch BANG. Disc lock split in two and off i went down the road. No damage to the bike, but tough as old boots that old kwak was.

Got me a thatcham approved disklock now, Also got me one of them bright yellow thingy's that attaches to the lock and clips in the ignition lock so no-way I can forget again.
