had a bad incident last bank holls whilst riding up the m6 around the staffs area, filtering through the traffic around 50mph following one of the county lads tryin to keep up with him i pulled over to the hard shoulder thinking fuck this im gonna die,i kept up with him riding neck to neck on the shoulder when i heard a bang glancing over i saw car debris and dust go up and someone go down,i anchored up and ran over to see my brother lying on the road with what looked like his guts spread over the motorway, his forearm had exploded and his muscles had come out,his breathing was slowing down and his eyes had glazed over,7 minutes later the air ambulance arrived and pumped him full of morphine whitch brought him round,he was screaming i cant breathe yorkie tell em i cant breathe.
scared the living **** outta me,thought we was gonna loose him, some young prick in a golf gti decided to change lanes without looking or indicating, the old bill have said they aint gonna prosecute even though we got independant witnesses,at the scene all they were aking people was, have they(us) been threatening or intimidating you!!
my brother would have died if it hadent been for the air ambulance because his lungs were filling up with fluid
he had punctured lung,8 broken vertibre,8 broken ribs 2 detached, broken collar bone and shoulder blade, broken arm, massive loss of muscle and other bits from his forearm, broken leg and shatterd ankle.
he's at home now and mending quite well but will take some time.
but will it stop us from filtering? no it wont but it will certainly slow me down a bit.
yorks

Thats called being polite and asking... rather than being an arogant w-anker and bullying your way along...

I does work too

I love to filter to work on mi cgrat, takes 15 mins to do 6 miles (never above speed limit) through rush hour traffic

Its the mopeds sitting in the traffic as I flash past that makes me grin, especaily when it sets me up for a day at work (before I get on the bike I don't wana go!)..

If its safe to go I go if its not I dont.

What has changed last few years is the pace of cars there quicker than they used to be and you have to keep an eye open for em. Bloody diesal mundano will do 125 mph.

What I will say after havin a life threatening accident I tend to think twice about what I do funny how a hospital bed for a few months and wheelchair for a year or so change your riding habbits.

I look at it this way - I didn't buy a bike to sit in fucking traffic.

Like the shirt says - "Think Bike, See Bike, Get The Fuck Out Of Bike's Way"

Ill filter, I have in the past filtered as described, but now Im not so sre, scaring the crap out of the doddery old fuka, in the middle lane, is such a clever Idea. each to their own, but Ill continue to ride how I do, having fun my way. And I hope Im not broke down one day in the hard shoulder when some of these posters come by. But its been quite interesting watching some beat their chests Trying to impress ..............

After being away from the bikes for a bit I noticed straight away the fu@king cars have more oomph than they used to have.

Filtering is always recommended at every opportunity but as safely as possible the cars nip between lanes like nob heads and it don't take much for a visit to A&E

Don't use the hard shoulder meself, no fun in that.
Nine times out of ten if the traffic's moving, the left hand lane's empty anyway.

My first long run was to the Patriots MC gig in Wales, in August.
Motorway was packed, so Paul slides up the middle.
'Best I follow' me thinks.
Was going great guns, and being followed by a huge hairy on a Harley behind me, I was doing ok.
Till I comes up behind some twat in a BMW 4x4, on his phone, and way over to the white line.
So I pulls up behind him, not sure if Gertie and I should risk the squeeze, what with me being laden with all the luggage an' all.
The hairy on the Harley was getting pissed off with this guy, and started honking his horn to try and get the guys attention.
Paul at this point was gone, and out of sight, so I was getting a wee bit worried this guy on the harley was gonna give me some stick for not squeezing thru.
The traffic moves forward, and just as I was gonna pull off too, the guy on the Harley comes up along side me and says 'This is how ya deal with twats like him babe'..........
With that, he pulls alongside the BMW 4x4 'twat', puts the boot in the door and shouts 'Get off ya fukkin' phone and pull over ya cnut! Can't ya see there's a lady trying to get through'
With this the phone was dropped, the 4x4 was moved and the harley rider let me through.
Bless him, and as he passed me when the traffic cleared a wee bit, he blew me a kiss and was gone...........
Not sure if we was going the same place as me, but I never saw him again. He was cute too.......

So, I guess thats how ya filter with style eh?..........

Always filter at any speed but make sure you have a way of escape. A position you can accelerate into if twat in car decides to move lanes. ie. I filter doing a half figure of eight 3 zigaging from side to side rather than a straight line (no escape route) if you know what I mean?

Also by doing this my headlight is going from lane to lane into both cars interior mirrors as i sway from side to side.

Get the gist?

Played lane dancing, the other Friday on the M25, when the back wheel locked up, then unlocked and locked again, across all three lanes before finally losing it on the grass verge, still haven't had that heart in the mouth feeling for a while ...
