Anyway, I have courageously resisted all attempts over the years to get me to drive a car and I dont intend capitulating now.

The reason for taking kids.... We need more peeps to keep 'Biking' alive. I rode sidecars for many years and my oldest son has no intrest whatsover. My youngest son whom I took to rallies (by car) is now a biker and so are his daughters, though too young to ride as yet. You need to catch'em young and introduce them to all the facets of a biker lifestyle, especially the rebellious freedom that abounds at a bike rally. I only go to fairly local events due to a top speed of 45mph (makes using motorways etc extremely dangerous) so I can do the family in car, lad on bike. Leave them to put up tent and then go fetch my own bike. If the rally says no cars (like the Farmyard) then the rule must be respected, if not I go anyway.

I don't see any probs with that - you still arrived by bike. Obviously it would be preferable if you could all arrive by bike or outfit, but it depends on the size of your family. When I bought my outfit the previous owner used to take 3 kids in chair plus wife on back of bike.
Years ago I was at rally and camped up next to a guy with a Vmax who obviously had his daughter with him. He got a phone call and returned with his wife on a matching Vmax with a second child. I remember thinking at the time that that was the ideal, so I stopped at 2 kids.

Most rallies these days are rarely advertised as bike rallies, and most organisers don't give a hoot who they sell the tickets to as long as they sell them. In fairness most of the smaller events in general are only attended by bikers because unless you moved in these circles you wouldn't know about them.

I don't think that's necessarily true. A lot of the best small rallies do not require advertising and numbers are limited by the site or club organising it, so they often specify bike rally to make sure that the limited tickets go to bikers.
