Always happens wi' new builds, mate. Since the rebuild, the Changeling split its fuel tank first time out, and broke a coil wire second time - had to ride 250 miles home on three pots ... think it thought it was a Triumph - 900cc(ish) triple.

found an old steel solderless nipple - ground it down to fit and been out and put anothe r10 miles on her - so far so good

feels as if shes on 3 cyls but sparking on 4 and fuel getting to the four pots as well - maybe its the hotible laser exhaust - personally i prefur drag pipes but they probally dont make em any more

The joys of 80's jap bikes mate, these things are definitely sent to test us.

Tis just niggly teething hassles but I would get a new cable as soon as you can afford it. Have you had the carbs balanced? I would give that a go to try to sort the running problem, or check your HT's, plug caps and plugs if you haven't already done so.

I did my plugs last weekend cos my GT started running rough. Burn the crud off the electrode with a blow torch, brush clean with a brass brush and check the gap. Allow time to cool and pop them back in.

Works a treat mate.

Must be a dodgy lever fraying the cable then.

It'll be right mate.
