Default got the drag star and...

big smile 1/4 mile from the dealer was a roundabout where luckily the heel of my boot hit the deck befor the peg as I did a right hander... not so lucky on the next left hander as the peg bit it and gve me a shock... did make me smile. I removed the lfreedom eagle emblem from the top yoke with a large knife and some white spirit, yanked the tassles off the levers only to notice the master cylinder lid has the bastard eagle on it with the banner

any hoo, spent tohe afternoon blasting around the cheshire countryside. I need to harden the suspension as she wallows a bit, definately need straight througghs and a better air filter.. read as hyperharger probably the kuryaken skull... when I ever have any money again .

Major oversight was luggage, i'll be commuting with suits and shirts and have nowehere to store them! never mind. Asda carrier bags it is. Overall though the XVS100 is a fun bike that is surrisingly easy to through about.

I have that problem with getting shiny bits for the star, everthing seems to have bloody eagles on then. Not that I have anything against eagles, but I want skulls and spiders on mi shiny bits...

C'mon then show us the photo's..I'm still lusting after a cruiser..but I'm in a quandry, if I tell my wife I need a cruiser because I'm too old for the rat, she'll come back with "Too old for biking"...Been riding around on the GT today...It's amazing how much of a buzz I can still get after 41 years of riding...Took my son to work earlier he weighs 19 stone and is 6ft...asked him how he liked it..he said he hated every sharp turn and roundabout...he normally rides a Chinese 125 scooter..but it breaks down every week or two...weather like this, you can't use the car can you..... John

I'll grab some pics in a bit and upload them. it's not mint, but then a mint bike wouldn't suit me. I was very very pleased with the handling and had a bit of fun trying to filter at 80 down the winding lanes

Gothtec, I'm with you on the skulls bit. The master cylinder is going to see the angry side of my angle grinder tomorrow

when I bought the 600 Shadow before I chopped, lowered and extended it .. it had eagles and skulls all over it ....

when I had finished it I was riding down the A3 and I pulled in to a service station to fill up, noticed that there was about 15 bikes in the Little Chef (little theif) couple o trikes etc etc ... got a nod from one of them, so filled up and shot the bike over had a fag n' chat whilst putting me skid lid on ... am telling this bloke I had to take all the stupid eagles and live to ride bull**** off and how crap it is to have live to ride and eagles etc etc only THEN to notice the bloke sitting on his eagle covered trike witrh live to ride all over it sitting behind bloke I'm talking to .... he didnt look to pleased

open mouth change foot ..... heh heh heh

I had the opposite happen, was with a mate down at the Mucky Duck some years back when a bloke with a purple XS650 lowrider pulls in, he got chatting to some blokes about how he spent a fortune getting it bored out and tricked up, the fun he had setting it up with twin amals etc......when my mate pipes up "Nasty getting them amals to work right."
geezer replied all aggressive like "And what would you know about it.. eh?"
"Well that bloke there (points at me) built it, looks like all you have done is paint the wheels."

Cue loads of laughter and one fat twat slinking away....

fair point!

Thios is the bike, not mint but then I only paid 3700 and 100 was a deposit.

then there is the exhausts.. I have scraped these on bloody roundabouts!

My beef is with the ground clearance, I don't see why I can't ride it like a hooligan just because it is a cruiser... it's comfy but the sportster had much more poke and better agility. ..l I really need to tune this beast up and get some more out of it. I hate the fact I can hear myself humming over the engine when i'm at a set of lights! ... but it is great fun to ride on the motorway and high speed filtering is a rush

And of course the footpegs , again they keep hitting the deck.

the only thing I can think is that I need to adjust my riding style. .. it is very annoying though. Fayji, as soon as fiscally possible i'll b doing the filter and pipes, probably not in that order though.

Thats a nice bike you got there Slob. I just got myself the XVS650A...and i love it.
I got a front fender trimrail for the XVS1100/650 Custom if you're interested? Its a genuine Yam part and brand new, but i got the one with the fatter fender so it wont fit. PM me if you're interested honey.

If you think that's bad try riding a motorbike and sidecar for the first time after years of solo biking...That first roundabout is very interesting.... John
