Other thing on keyring is a mini mag light, can't fix stuff if can't see it.

Most of bolts are s/steel caps on bike so couple of hex keys and can get to most stuff.Pliares and two phillips screwdrivers under seat.Few zip clips taped to seat rails can be handy.

Pocket time-roll of wire, couple of in line connectors, insulation tape wrapped around wire.Few fuses don't take up much room .

Punctures can be a thing of the past if you fill your tyres with goop(OK I can't remember the name) it fills puncture oncontact with air-clever stuff.

Admitadly my bikes tend to be on the survival/rat end of spectrum but with this lot and regular servicing had a good run of luck!

cheers,

Drew
in regards to the goop stuff ,is there not air in the tyre then?????first time on here so hi everyone while im at it

I keep a can of women's hairspray on the shelf in my garage
Great for lubricating tight-fitting handlebar rubbers. They slide on nice & easy then it dries like a glue.
Also, I always use white Tippex pens for marking metal when I'm fabricating. Easy to see, works on any surface & you can wipe it off when you make a mistake.

Lotoxane wipes (often used on aircraft) works a treat for wiping off crud.

Micromesh as used on aircraft canopies is great for polishing bits up, including plastics if you have an assortment of grades.

the tipex pen is a great idea... i already use one for marking up stuff as you can see on the trike build piks on my site. why use a black marker pen that you can never see!

Default top tip

if you are totally mechanically inept, and dont own a single decent tool, why not post any questions on how stuff on your bike works on this forum BEFORE you take it to fucking pieces on the pavement outside your house, and then realise that you dont know what youre doing!!!!!
