Default luggage rack help wanted

ok I will post this in classifieds bit too...

our kwak bike-trike has a 'temporary' wooden rack (don't laugh, it works really well) but it needs to be replaced with a proper matel one, either bought or made. So any ideas about making one? We could adapt a bought one so any ideas would be useful, mainly what gauge metal to use, fixing with bolts or welds? What does the law say?

if I'm lucky gypsy will see this and post a pic or our trike and the one of someone else's trikes with racks similar to what we have in mind...

(boab's and the red one honey pie xxx)
