Unhappy frame alterations

I'm trying to put a fireblade wheel in my hardtail frame but the sprocket hanger catches so the wheel won't turn let alone centre (stop laughing). I just wondered what would be a better idea; cutting the spindle plates off the back of my donor bike & welding them over the ones on the chopper to move the wheel back, or cut the cross braces and bend the frame out.

err,

I'm having trouble picturing that. are you saying that the wheel is too wide to fit in the frame?

Is this a modified factory frame or a custom frame?

If you get it in the frame is the rear sprocket going to line up with the one on the engine???

the frame's a custom hardtail. I haven't put the engine in yet. The wheel fits in but the sproket hanger nuts catch on the rails that come down from the seat point. It doesn't catch on the bottom rails.

I think you should be getting the rear wheel to fit centrally in the frame so that you can then install the engine and align the sprockets.
If the wheel don't fit then it's a major frame mod or a different wheel

cheers for the advice, I think I'll try to get extra plates welded on to fit the wheel further back in the frame (I think when I checked this possibility the wheel would centre)
