Default Steampunk'd Virago

1991 535 Virago originally... the idea was to create a bike that looked like it had been built by a mad Steampunk inventor out of just the bits he had in his shed. So no polished engineering stuff here. Engine and Frame are original, I just added and removed bits. Is currently MOT'd, Taxed and Running. Took me two years to build as life got in the way.

Twin Brass "British Seagull" Outboard Motor fuel tanks (there is a big reserve tank under the seat)
Exhausts 18" stainless straight-throughs hidden inside twin exhausts made of 4 old brass fire extinguishers - very loud
1926 "Great Exhibition" Liptons tea caddy holding the wiring in.
Early 20C Brass headlight with modern halogen light in it.
Speedo surround is a 1950's "English Breakfast Tea" caddy.
Sprung saddle is more comfy than it looks.
Mini brass fire extinguisher attached (on other side of bike)
Brass painted plaster skull to deter thieves !
Brass gauges and bits

Looks a damn sight better than any other Virago (spit!) I've seen!
Getting old isn't much fun - except when you consider the alternative!

Reminds me very much like a bike that Twizzle made, ooh, way back about ten or so years ago.

I like the use of the seagull tanks. So many customs now use stretched peanut jobbies. It gets a bit like looking at cars sometimes.. you can't tell the different makes!

Nice bike Al...
Does my belly look big in this?
