Default Hello out there :)

Hi, im new to the trike scene, and not completely there yet (project in production) have a great enthusiasm for engines in general, no where bear as much experience as probably anyone here, but I'm undertaking a trike project using a Honda VT 500 ED and its electrics to build my first trike. It is this which has made me contribute on here as I'm having some problems choosing a rear drive, the engine is a shafty but I've turned it sideways to put a sprocket on, and not sure how to go about the rear drive, I'm on a tight budget and simplicity is important. my choice at the moment is for a sprocket on to a solid axle, which is for obvious reasons not the best choice.
Any advice/help?
