Default Brake disks - where do i get them?

OK... latest dodgy rattle is one of my front disks - going to have to get both obviously, but where does cheap, but not crap brake disks? I understand the wavy ones are much cheaper, and i'm told good, any thoughts? Opinions?

I've known about this particular problem for some time so its not a surprise. The rubbers have perished and the disk has a fair bit of free movement. I got warned about it some years ago tho, so hey ho...

Don't get EBC discs unless you fancy freeing them off with a hammer and screwdriver every winter morning.

They are quite cheap, but utter wank.

yup, floating disks are supposed to rattle. however, if they are moving excessively, but the disks themselves arent that worn, then you can still buy just the metal bobbins that hold the disk on the rotor, and replace just them. a whole load better and cheaper than replacing the whole disk .

I agree with this... what rubbers?? The discs should be bolted directly to the wheel and float a few mil on the fixings. The only time you should need to change them is when they are worn below their serviceable limits or are worn uneven and destroying pads rather quickly.

Chuck a bid on up to what you're prepared to pay - if they go for more than that, wasnt meant to be. I'll keep an eye on the auction from work on Saturday if that helps at all? We'll be at The Plough briefly Friday and as darned early as we can get away on Saturday!

Cheers Minxy, will ring my grandpa now and see if i can get some cash from him - otherwise i can't afford to pay for them! Going to have to be done tho cos i've got no chance of getting it through an MOT as it is, not to mention the issue of the fact the disc might not be safe!
