new and curious

Hi all, recently left Royal Marines after 12 years (29yrs old) bikes have always been my primary mode of transport and love everything about them, started on a GPZ 500 then a bandit, then had a triumph speed triple then switched to a sportster and now harley forever more, love tattoos, rock music and anything blues with a harmonica like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMSFT8YF3Fs

I really want to get into the biker scene now as before I have not had the chance due to a pretty intensive military career, where the closest thing to being involved is a subscription to BSH! a friend of mine is in a military club and once told me that due to where I lived I was in the wrong place for certain clubs etc

im not on some mission to go join a club or anything and know it probably a case of if you gotta ask but just hoping someone on here maybe able to offer a little advice to someone starting out??....I dont want a pickle :thumbu:

thanks

Hi, rottie,

First thing to do is to fill in the user CP up there on the left, It's not much good trying to get local information if nobody knows where you are..

Then we should know what you want to do..Meet up with groups for regular riding..discover new roads with great views..travel long distances..ride only when the sun is out..the list is endless but there is always someone on here who has the same interest..

This is a great forum if you have a weird sense of humour..look up there on the same row as the User CP at the search button, type in a word or two and see what people have already said about the subject..

You should know that if you are a bloke and you are looking for a boyfriend this may not be the best place to look..

Welcome to the forum..

John.

Hi John

thanks for reply, well not looking for a boyfriend, already found him and put two thumbs in his bum :thumbsu:

Im really looking for some like minded people, would like to meet up and do more than just one sunny sunday, i ride all year all over the country, interested in going to shows and having a laugh, learning how to carry out more work on bikes etc, not really wanting a child/family or softy type of thing where i cant say what i want or everyones real PC but equally dont really fancy having to pick my teeth off the floor every night either, done enough of that!!!

kidhaf 12-05-2014 06:54 PM

Welcome to the nut house. If out riding or intending to ride check where John aka rain god is and go the other way.

If offered any deals on wheels or offers you canny refuse by Ewokantuck enterprises run like fuck or your soul will be owned by both for a period no shorter than eternity.

Enjoy ask questions we will take the piss its only to be expected.

P.s. is it true Marines eat there young.

rottie 12-05-2014 10:08 PM

Choprocker 12-05-2014 10:48 PM

try the british legion, i'm sure they have a riders group etc.
I would think there are plenty of ex military out there riding and have their own groups etc.

thanks for info, never really fancied the British Legion TBH, not wishing to upset anyone and before anyone gets a 'hard-on' i dont wanna offend anyone as each to their own but don't really wanna do things like space hopper races
http://gallery.rblr.co.uk/2014/Janua.../P1030154.html
i know they do more but im a relatively young bloke with a bit of adventure left in me yet!!

John Hopkins 12-05-2014 11:23 PM

If you are up for a challenge join the IBA forum and have a go at the Brit Butt tour, you still have time to get a few rides under your belt..

Then there's plenty of riders on here who can advise you of interesting roads in their area..You would be amazed at some of the roads we have in Great Britain that will test your limits..

Ride anywhere near me and you will need good rain gear, I supplied the unicorns for Noah to put in his ark..well I was supposed to but I got a puncture on the way..

John.
