Here is one that Mrs Chopper did of me. This was entered in the BP International Portrait contest.

This is one of the pictures Mrs Chopper has done for our clubhouse. This one is 6 feet X 4 feet.

She has done quite a few for other clubs as well.

thats the page of a Polish girl that lives in a bus next to my work, great girl, the best of her work isnt on that website, she does beautiful wooden panels that she has over the windows etc on the coach/bus that she lives in

she explained to me that she cant sell any of her work, I loved one of the pieces, the local pub one, its a very good size and just something I liked, explained I couldnt afford it but would like to know how much, think it was 20

I think its probably too cheap, currently trying to get some of her bits on the walls of a couple of local restaurants and pubs, free decoration for the pub, and chance to sell her work.

I greatly admire those that are artistic/creative, I am useless at that sort of thing

All the work is great! I only draw for design purpose, I should really do more.. I like using oil paint, I sort of sculpt with it on the canvas, but not done any for ages.... Well Done to all:thumbu:

Chopper.... What wi' my legg's? Never!

onebaddaddy 30-11-2011 11:53 AM

Devontony- that's polish girls work is real nice!
There's a bloke near me who paint in a similar style, generally brothers Grimm sorta fantasy stuff, but dark as a hell. He had a killer painting of lil red riding hood, drinking from the wolfs severed head whilst being screwed over a log by the woodsmen.if I remember correctly there were squirrels in the trees taking photos.

I can't believe you're useless at arty stuff, just try different medias..my mother in law is pretty lame at drawing but she uses bandage and plaster of Paris to do some 3d stuff of canvas, that's actually pretty good when she's finished.
I try all sorts of stuff, some I'm total Shiite at,but it's a good destresser and you'll pick techniques up along the way.

Yorkie- good to know I'm not the only who bladders the paint on.
'er in doors think the textured way I paint, starting with no sketch marks is bonkers..

Here's some of my old stuff- generally produced whilst getting rat arsed,on cheap cider.

Not exactly Picasso but fun as fuck, when you're struggling to stay upright let alone hold a frickin tiny paintbrush

Great work

I lean more to "As is" style, not exactly tourist post card but a little toward's th e "Nice" that most Joe public can relate with..

My work is all based around wood butchering... Figure Carving Human, Animal and Woman... Read Mainly woman!

If anyone is thinking marketing/exhibiting their work and feel the need for some pointer's.. on how's best, wht to watch out for, etc, et,c an' so forth! Then grab a copy of this book Marketing & Promotion for Craft's by Betty Norbuy... She really know's what she is talking about, her husband Ian is one of the world's top Artist Sculptor/Woodcarver. All can be applied to other disiplins of the Art's.

This has lost quite a lot of resolution in conversion to .jpg, it is an offering stela from the village of the craftsmen at Deir el Medina

The fella with the hair is the person who made/comissioned the stela, his name was Iay. The bald chappie behind him isn't named. He may well be Iay's son.
The hawk headed deity with the fancy collar is Khons, son of Amun and Mut and together they make up the Theban Triad.

Being me, I altered it (well, I did make it) and this will be on the front of my Christmas cards this year.
