Outdoor beer tent and Beer tokens
Not as many people ? seemed quieter?
The Damned - Quo should have been on on Sat night.
The ride home

harry 17-08-2011 05:53 PM

I thoroughly enjoyed myself as above, but............

Last year the Bully looked like it was being run down.
It was much smaller than before and they didn't even bother printing a programe.

We all hoped that money was being put back for the 25th. to make it really special.

But this year looked even smaller, fewer traders, fewer punters, smaller custom show.

Two music stages running at the same time is daft, especially so close together, it would be better to spend more money on top bands.

What makes the Bully unique is the drag strip and that was brill.

W.I.T.C.H 17-08-2011 07:10 PM

i enjoyed myself but then the company i kept made it good :D but i dont like doing the bar token thing and the stalls werent as good as previous years in my opinion although i need get myself a nice ashfield shirt :D

i didn't go, but that's pretty much exactly what my mates who did go said.

'92 was the last one i went to, i did them all up to then.
kent, the bully and crazy daze were the highlight of my biking summers back then. :thumbsu:

Dax 18-08-2011 01:58 PM

Same as others

Didn't like the token system or paying for my plastic glass, however everything else was well organised & run like always. Think i was just happy it didn't piss it down like last year. :thumbsu:

Well I had a bloody good time even though I worked all weekend. Having said that I did attend with the intention of enjoying myself and spent absoutely no time whatsoever looking for things to moan about after.

A bloody good event.

Taff, there are always things that can be done better or differently. Far as I could see, there was everything laid on for anybody that wanted to have a bloody good time. A good variety of food, plenty of beer, good stage acts, plenty of trader stalls and other entertainment and this year the sun managed to break through as well. No cops hassling anybody going in or out of the site. :)

Have to say if folk cannot have a good time at the Bulldog Bash then they might as well stay at home.

Chopper.

Steve D 19-08-2011 02:29 PM

My only moan is that if you're up there working for the HA your wristband does not allow you entry to Kelly's bar, but if you're some dickhead hangaround that turned up with an mcc with a VIP invite, you can.

outside stage - luckily the weather was OK, but was a big risk considering the usual bulldog bash weather

a lot less traders - not sure if that's good or bad?

custom tent - didn't seem to have the enthusiasm it usually does, and there
were only three club bikes on display, and the awards categories was much smaller

there was a lot more open space, which made it look quieter

there new entrance for the public, didn't like the change in entrance over last two years as a lot of people like to watch the bikes ride in (that's a big part of bulldog bash)

but still had a good time, because of the people i meet

Taff 01-09-2011 08:18 PM

Not pissing in the pot i eat from, but i felt a bit sorry for people who'd come for the balls out biker party of the decade, for Las Vegas in a field, as was put across. Personally, i really didn't like it being advertised as THIS IS THE BIG ONE, THE BIG 25th, when any fool could see that it was scaled down massively. Whether this was to your taste or not is purely subjective, but had i paid 140 as a couple to get in, i'd have felt somewhat bamboozled.

Have to disagree with you Taff. When you consider what folk will pay to see one band, they still have transport costs, food and possibly overnight accommodation just for one gig.

I think 70 a ticket for four days entertainment is bloody good value for money. Folk had the option to buy tickets early and save 20. Yes the bash was smaller this year, but everybody has to try and cut costs. We did the same for our show this year.

Like I said earlier in the thread, any event is what you make it and there is always something that someone will not like or think it could be done better. I think that in recent years event goers have been spoiled. The list of things that people expect at an event is never ending and everything has a price to be paid for having it at an event. Event organisers have to decide where to draw the line and sometimes that means tough choices have to be made. Knowing what we have to pay for our marquee, I dread to think what it costs to have that massive marquee at the bash.

70 is quite a lump of money to most people. However, there were money saving options available. I wonder how many people woke up on the day the bash opened and made the decision to go that day. I think most people plan thier years events in advance.

I know I was working there but I still had a bloody good time. I know a hell of a lot of hard work went into putting the show together. I have happy memories of this years bash.

Chopper.

On the positive side.

I didn't see any chavs this year. :D

I remember at the bully a few years back hearing a chav say to his mates "This'd be allright if there weren't so many f*ckin' bikers!"

Don't think he knew what irony is though.
