New toy - very chuffed!

Ambition achieved! Wanted one since forever. It's a scruffy, non-running bag 'o at the mo', but it will live again.

It's currently at a mate's shop where he's going to see if he can get it running and see what the engine's like. If it's okay, it'll get sorted so that it can be MoT'd (fork seals, chain, grind back the enormous slab top yoke so that it clears the tank, do summat about the exhaust etc), matted and run around for the rest of the year as a replacement for the ZXR.

If it's not, back of the garage with a cover over it 'til the Winter and then it'll be getting silly.

:)

irishbiker 28-07-2011 09:55 PM

At least you won't have to change the colour :D

lowrider 28-07-2011 10:18 PM

Like that,love the swingarm.
Be tempted to polish that up and leave the rest black

shad 28-07-2011 10:22 PM

Unless my weary eyes deceive me though, that's a GSX-R engine and not a Kat engine.

johnr 29-07-2011 08:29 AM

niiiiiiiiiice, stevea in the kat club does a nice line in recovering seat with a carbon fibre look vinyl, (its black too btw!) thats nice though, i do have an impractically huge soft spot for kats!

johnr 29-07-2011 08:30 AM

oh, and i might have a 17 inch front that will match your rear wheel, if my eyes dont decieve me, that looks like the 16 inch front from a kat sd or somesuch!

EFE, matey said. ;)

Not worried at the mo' 'cos it#s going to get HCS when I've saved up the money, but ta for the offer. :)

johnr 29-07-2011 09:17 AM

aye, that would figure. efe same size and spoke pattern but iirc slightly wider rim than the kat (and some pop ups too)

Powdercoat, mate, doesn't need polishing. ;)

minxy 30-07-2011 08:00 AM

Cut the seat short?!!!! Not on a kat huh. Sweet. Nice buy there.

TektroG 30-07-2011 10:39 AM

Completely agree Minxy. If you change the seat and nose fairing / headlight, its not really a Kat anymore, is it?

Seem to recall Big CC had a Kat they'd "slightly" breathed on, for drag strip shennigans (had divers weights on the front forks, to try to keep the front end down).

Just so happens I have a spare one here ;)
