I challenge that person to say who they are and in what way the thread was offensive to them, or if that is too personal, at least to say why they choose to read a thread that is clearly labelled as being offensive and then complain about it.

That's half of what's wrong nowadays, people complain about everything but they hide behind others to do it.

The complaint came from my house.

A friend of mine who was/is thinking of buying a Trike comes here to see me and reads the forum. The main complaint was about the Muslim bomber joke and the lack of understanding about his faith. It then went on to the other thread about gays and immigration and the general venom behind the comments, now freedom of speech is a thing I have fought for and will defend but when it becomes insulting or offensive comments I must agree with this person. They found it offensive and as such exercised THEIR right of to speech to complain.

Yeah there are a lot of harley hating wankers on here. I have had a run in with 1 or 2. Most have probably never ridden one and are consumed by the envy of the tw@s from HOG that can afford them from expenses and buy a lifestyle. However, If your crescent loving friend wants to live in a country that is more hospitable to muslims then choose one that doesn't have a cross in it's national flag and over 1000 years of christian heritage. This is who we are and what our history is. If they don't like it, GO AND LIVE somewhere else and shut the door when they leave. These people asked US to come and live here and now have the front to ask us to change 'cos they are offended by our heritage and customs. We all have come to virtual fisticuffs on the forum at some point or other but we seem to sort out our differences and get on with it!

I just can't see why he had to make a compliant to Pat, without making a post pointing out to us why he was so offended. No doubt, he would have got a rebuke or two , and probably some mumbled apologies, which in turn would settle the forum back to it's nice and fluffy status quo!

But in taking his action he has succeeded in getting EVERYONE'S back up, not because of the racist jokes or comments, but because he has challenged our right to freedom of speech! Which we all cherish here on this forum! And for that I think the guy is an arse!

Well bloody said mate. The funny thing is im not hiding behind a computer if you get what i mean. I think a couple of people well verify im straight and above board and express my opinons where ever, when ever asked etc. What would this bloke have done if he heard me at a bike rally or in a pub etc? Reported me to the police, security or the likes? The problem is the law would be obligated to stick up for him which in turn would get me in trouble for expressing my views which i am supposedly entitled to do. I also wonder if this bloke has gone and complained elsewhere about this forum and postings. All seems a bit snidey to me.

Most have probably never ridden one and are consumed by the envy of the tw@s from HOG that can afford them from expenses and buy a lifestyle. However, If your crescent loving friend wants to live in a country that is more hospitable to muslims then choose one that doesn't have a cross in it's national flag and over 1000 years of christian heritage. This is who we are and what our history is. If they don't like it, GO AND LIVE somewhere else and shut the door when they leave. I would say, all I had a problem with was, as an American living here, being lumped in with all immigrants in the original statement.
