We took this place over just over a year ago now (Meaning the Regent not Blackpool, well not yet mwwaa)
And have been frantically doing it up, cause well it needed it!

One wall was particularly scary, now this wall has been looming for the whole year, just sneering at us, goading us into touching it, it had this strange boarding over it, that was covered in the most foul wallpaper you ever saw.
But because this wall is in the private lounge and not an area guests see we kind of kept putting it off, but finally we got sick of our area's being the shabbiest, I mean we've spent a fortune on the bar, bathrooms, bedrooms etc.
So today we decided to explore the ...(insert spooky music) WALL!

So after painting all the woodwork in the room (And it's a bloody huge room i tell you) we looked at the wall, first we thought lets see if we can pin that board back (As it was more or less hanging off) but alas the wall had other ideas and behind the board we heard the sound of falling debris, uhoh!

So off came the board, oh my word, underneath was the WALL...........

Yellow isn't the word, tar stained from ciggies isnt a good enough description, words elude me, ok i hear you saying pish we dont believe words ever eluded you!
It was gross and it sneered, it said *come on then wtf can you do with me??!!*
The rendering some poor fool had once upon a time tried to hide the holes to the outside with had fallen away, no wonder it was so damn cold in there last winter...
HOLES eek spiders! I ran and left poor Spidey and our son to defend me from those crawly things. (Yes I know Spidey being called Spidey and spiders in the wall, but honest he doesn't have eight legs and he isnt hairy! well not like a spider)

So with several hammers we took at it and we beat the s**t out of that wall, it fought back, some say legs were lost and an arm or two, but finally we overcome it and with expanding foam and hammers and dumb stubborness we conqured the wall....

Now it's bare brick and awaiting a new covering of plaster, but you know this evening I'm sure I saw it smirk and chomp a little at the thought of a fresh new plaster base.....

*insert eerie music here*

How Much Is A Single Room ? I Really Fancy A Break Away From The Flat, No Real Party Reason Or Anything Just A Weekend Away.

Nope none at all hun, and we'll even give you a double bed in a double room if we don't have any single rooms left, pfttt @ this single person supplement crap, i mean why penalise someone for being on their own?

It pisses me off. I can't afford much but even less when I get charged more for taking up less room.

Exactly,

one of the things we've been trying to do since taking this place over is get rid of some of the stupid idea's people have about making money, like single person supplement's, like stupid bar prices, most of the hotels (and i say most cause obviously i havent seen them all) charge stupid OTT prices on their beer and shorts, just because they know after the clubs/bars shut people like to carry on drinking and so will pay stupid inflated prices.

I mean of course we cant get it as cheap as the pubs, but we dont go loony and try and charge silly prices for it.

we keep our prices the same all year round as well, a lot of hotels put their prices up and down to suit the season, come the *Lights on* a lot of so called £15 Hotels are charging anything up to £90 a night for ONE person, and we couldnt believe this last year when we saw it.
So we decided we would set a tariff and stick to it in and out of season.

Now here I go waffling on again...

I'll shush now, just i'm passionate about what we do here!
:)
