View Full Version : just back from pissed indian
and what a great party
many many thanks to mad dog and gollum and all the renegades for putting on a brilliant show
highlight of the weekend was seeing the dreamers (no freddy)
they were brilliant
we met some new faces, Blue, Abbs, loony
also some old friends there too
had many many hugs - was great to see you all again :D especially the pooves and the sams cos we ain't seen them for nearly a year
was good to see pugwash's bike (with water wings) sorry we missed the ceremony tho
and it's true what they say about the toilets lol
the camera died tho' so only got 2 pictures :(
You finally caught up with Abbs then?! Was Loony um, loony at the point you met him (not sure there were many minutes when he wasn't!!).
Agree, The Dreamers were absolutely brilliant - very, very impressed, and what a drum solo!!
Good to meet you both properly at last. :D
ha ha yeah we kinda helped carry loony a couple of times,
was funny meeting you tho, when I'd been admiring some nice girl's piercings and chatting to her for 10mins or so
then I asked Pat to make sure she pointed abbs n blue out to me, she gave me 'a look' and pointed at Blue - that's blue there she said - ha ha - I am so dumb at times
well, I thought you had red hair girl!
Nice? I must be losing me touch!!! :D Pat did say she'd been trying to catch your eye and silently tell you I was That Person! Did you speak to Glyn and Jewel on our stand? Sometime in the next couple of weeks we'll have to have a word - I'm at a hot rod show the day of El Grandio Opening, but I'll persuade Manky to take some pics. (Best not to mention cameras and photos to the poor wee chap at the moment... )

Feckin'ell Doro and Gypsy,
you were on'y camped twenty feet away from us and we didn't see you till just before you went home... bugger! :D
It was a good craic tho' thanks again to MD and the Renegades, as well as the MAG bods who marshaled over the weekend (two SE branches worth this time - Medway and Beachy Head were represented).
And to everyone off here who popped into the MAGstall to say hello (too many to name, including Fayji, Defarter, Abbs the wind-up merchant :D ), it was good to see ya, as well as everyone who chucked money into the buckets for the Farmyard Appeal - I won't find out how much money was raised till a couple of days from now, but I'll let everyone know in time (the buckets were really heavy by the end of Saturday night).
Thank feck I've got day off work tho' I'm knackered! :D Poor old Mrs R's had to go to work this morning :(
yeah MD said he had to put us in the MAG area cos the NABD area was full
anyway, redlion - I think I know who you are - can you confirm it?
defarter  you were there??? noooooooooo we missed you *grumble*
and fayji - hmmmm - bet he saw us and ran away before we spotted him lol
there was another very nice girl in pat's stall same time as we met blue, who was very kind and shared things with us - but we dunno who she is, so if she's from here - was lovely to meet you and thanks for sharing x x
and blue, don't worry, I saw you again later on but was too scared to come and speak to you cos you looked really mean that time
phew - so many people - so little time..........
ah yeah, and we did speak to the peeps on the BSH stand, thanks missus
*wanders off to wind manky up some more*

no, there was a girl sat to your right at the front of the shop, hair about as long as mine, but darker blonde, she was tall and thin too, unlike me, small n round ha ha
dunno Pat, she was sat almost opposite you, and as soon as we got there she was sharing her stuff - didn't even say hi to her or anything, she was sat there all quiet like a ghost...blue might remember her, when we 1st got to the stall it was you n rick n blue and this girl...

I had a great time, met Defarter Pat and Blue. Didn't meet anyone else cos I was too busy trying not to break my leg stepping on a bottle again. :D

I thought Minxy was the very soul of tact and diplomacy. I don't think the chicken man expected to be told that her name was none of his feckin business and anyway why was he walking round looking like a right prat wearing a chicken on his back? Mind you, he didn't come back again :D !
Pat's gaseous emissions were a trifle malodourous :(
*wanders off to wind manky up some more*
I couldn't possibly condone such a dastardly plan. But, seeing as he goes back to work tomorrow after two weeks' holiday, you could ask him just how much work he's done on his trike... :D :D

Mitch - your face was a picture :D Sorry, couldn't resist........
"what does this MAG thing do then, what is it...?"
the bloody cheek of it!!!! :D To be honest, some of the numpties ... are you surprised my face was such a picture?
There were some nice moments, seeing all you lot for a start; as well as the old gadgie from London HAMC who came up to the stall to ask if we could help him after getting nicked in Germany for his pipes - sadly we couldn't but we both toasted the future of motorcycling - cheers! (something that wouldn't have happened a few years ago, eh?)
Feckin boiled me battery on the way home, just going out of maidstone (reg/rec is completely shagged! I knew it was too much to hope  ) tho' so we ended up with the two bikes on the back of this transporter (run by a bike dealers in Bromley - lucky the AA membership got paid last week) going round all't twisties back home... watching the car drivers sh1tttin'emselves seeing this transporter lumbering towards them! :D the look on the recovery driver's face when he drove over the crest of the High and Over towards Seaford (this viewpoint is one of the most beautiful in the country, South Downs to your left, then Seven Sisters cliffs, then Seaford, then the Ouse estuary towards Newhaven and then South Downs again to your right). He just looked at it and said "wow!"
the old gadgie from London HAMC
A bit more of a respectful description for a gentleman you don't know would be appreciated.

Gadgie to me is never meant disrespectfully, any offence is not meant. :o
He was a really nice bloke! He was a gent. pure and simple.
(I know someone will probably turn round with a dictionary meaning that means the opposite - but I would like to hope, those who really know me know what I'm like)

Two definitions, proving you are both right!
1. gadgie
Dundee term for (chiefly male) addidas tracksuit wearing urban lowlifes. Usually found on at the back of a double decker bus spitting and smoking, or skipping school or kicking a ball against an abandoned shop (also spitting)
Female form of gadgie is chewnieswinger
see also pikey, ned and schemie
Example: Oh no it's the No. 17 bus that's usually full o gadgies.
2. gadgie
A northern, maybe only in teesside, term for some one who is either your friend or someone who is a friend of a friend who's name you dont know (or cant remember). In general a similar word to gezzer, mate, fella
Example: "Now then gadgie, what ya been upto this weekend"
Aye, Gadgie is a Teeside/Far North Yorkshire term meaning chap/fella/bloke etc. Not a disrespectful term at all Blue.

well... considering I'm from Yorkshire and not Dundee, with at least one half of me (Armstrong on my mothers side) being from more Teeside area... says it all.
Cheers Liz!
Tho' it'd be "Nah then gadgie, whats tha bin up ta..." instead of yon 'estuary' translation like ;)

We use gadgie up here too.Definition as above.I didn't realise you used it in England till I heard Jimmy Nail say "I'm just a gadgie oot oan the piss" in an epidode of Spender. :)

Abbs is an elusive pimple
Now I would never have said that. Missed you at our do this year mate. Will ya be comin' down for Autumn NABDness ??

Who, me? I was, but now it looks like a no. That would be 4 rallies back to back - very expensive and a hell of a long way to go after a full days work.
Plus I need a new front tyre and a chain and sprockets - skintness approaches.

Shame. Tho I do understand what you mean. I'm at Anglesey next w/e, then I'm takin' an' extra nite out to see an old mate who also lives in Anglesey, then headin' back to get to Salford for photo shoot on the Wednesday before headin' south again for Ali Bongos MCC (Freak's lot) in Evesham for a gig the followin' Saturday around 5pm then on to South West Trikers & Bikers at Symonds Yat for anutha around 8pm. If it wasn't for the fact that I was playin' at the rallies I would be much more limited to the number I could attend.

You know that the North and the South are separated by language and what means one thing there doesn't mean the same here. As I discovered when arriving one morning in the AWoL office complaining loudly and bitterly about having just had a tug on the M6 ... the horrified expression on Li'l Mark's face was priceless...
ok, let's get this straight,
unless there are 2 minxy's - that girl was def not minxy,
I should recognize minxy by now cos we see each other loads more than the rest of you - and yep, she was defo minxy at the tattoo soiree
so the mystery remains
also just wanted to say that gadgie is a northern expression, and half gadge was levelled at my daughter for a few years at school (means tom boy apparently) but the word is a gypsy word which they use to refer to anyone who isn't a gypsy - Abbs will be able to confirm this after he's read the book :D
minxy was there the 2nd time we saw you at Pat's stall Blue, cos I remember her giving you a huge hug and telling you to have a good journey back :) whereupon I asked if you were going back home and then must have got distracted again cos it all goes hazy after that lol
d'oh - gotta get some different coloured hair-dye

LOL - I can imagine.
Anyroad, not only are the North and South separated by Language, but Lancashire and Yorkshire/Teesside are too.
Imagine my horror when Aly was talking to someone about their child and she said that they were a bonny kid.
Apparently, in the Mad Lands, Bonny means pretty. In Lancashire it means Fat.
Then there's canny.
lol
down here apparently drawers mean knickers (wierd) and pants mean trousers
whereas oop north, pants mean undies, and drawers are things in cupboards used to hoard stuff in...
got me quite a few giggles when I moved down that did

Ah, hang on, yes I do know who you mean. Only I don't know who she is. Pat - I think Doro means Dave Elphick's missus. It is Dave Elphick isn't it? You introduced me, he'd just spent a couple of days at Mutchie's and had ridden home without his helmet to see how far he'd get before he was stopped by the old bill...

close enough Blue, Dave Elrick... and he got as far as the M18 in Doncaster!
Hmmm. might be the start of something :D considering it's a fixed £30 penalty and no points on your licence.
Though obviously, I can't in my position as a Director of MAG honestly condone such behaviour? ;)
