View Full Version : buying the magazine
for some reason we can't find it down our way, bought our first ever copy at the RBCS, and it's brilliant (knew it would be), especially like the tech bits
so now all we need is the name of a stockist in Basingstoke, or a subscription...
Pat..!!!! Help...!!!
:D
thank-you

Regarding ordering your mag. Go to your local shop, run by a person of asian origin and order it. That's what I do and I never miss an issue. Unlike a subscription, you can cancel anytime you like and you don't have to pay up front.

Ewok is right, corner shop newsagents of that origin.... oooh Pat's being PC here, are usually the best bet for ordering, but we do a quarterly sub thingy in the mag, paying by standing order or DD type thing that'll only cost you £8 at time. :D

Our distribution company says any newsagent can order it for you IF they CHOOSE to! Its getting the sods to do it though. I was told that if a newsagent refuses to order it the distibution co will sort them out.
Call our distribution co on 01483 211 222 ( Nigel Hole) and query it with him I like it when folks make them earn the huge amount of dosh we have to pay them every month!!

The probs we are up against is this....
How many folk who want to buy the magazine go into a newsagents, look at the shelves, see no 100% Biker.... then walk out? Do you actually go to the counter and ask for it, or ask them why they dont stock it (many do but only take two copies that sell within three days then dont replace them) the newsagents either dont know or care about individual mags, they know they stock maybe 5-8 bike mags, those mags may well all be performance type mags, but to them they are just bike mags, they feel they stock enough, they dont know the difference. Newsagents are all about profit, and if there is no or little demand for a mag they dont stocvk it. So every time someone goes into a shop and walks away without asking.... they make the situation worse! We/you have to create the demand for the magazine! Go in those shops, ask for the mag, ask why they dont stock it, be polite but firm, and do it often! Get your mates to do it too, sooner or later those shops will realise they are losing sales by not stocking it .... ;)

Quite right Pat! My local shop only stocked BSH and a couple of Supabike type mags till I went in and ordered Awol (before and after the takeover) and 100% from issue 2. I got issue 1 elsewhere, which is how I found out about our great mag. Have been here eversince. Member no2 on the original website, how many remember that? Crashes galore and new names nearly every week! Still a few of us old-timers about.
PS. My local shop now carries 3-4 copies of 100% Biker as others became intrested after seeing my copy on the shelf.
very true, I'd forgotten you could do that....I did order my mags from my local newsagent years ago, but they used to stock one or two copies already and I just wanted to 'reserve'' mine, but, another advantage is that when they order them for you they usually order a few more as well to put on the shelf
nice one Pat

I've heard the arguments against subscriptions - like what if the mag goes bust etc. have a little faith tho an' remember, chances are that you put the amount you'd pay out for a subscription for a years worth of mags down ya neck on a Fri or Sat nite at a rally, an then some. But ya do get the mag about a week earlier an' it ain't been thumbed already by a bunch of 12 year olds lookin' for a titty-thrill :D

We do understand the way some folks feel about custom bike mags going bust cos it has happened to loads in the past, thats why we introduced the quarterly sub, £8 per quarter, okay you have to still sign up for a year but you PAY quarterly thats why if anything happened to us (God Forbid) you could only lose £8 at the most. simple eh!
But we are not going anywhere!!!! ;)

I do that quarterly thing and i never notice it going so i dont have to worry about the mag being late or notice that i am even paying for it. It is like getting a pressie every month. :D
