Longest I ever owned a bike was 7 years and that was my old GP 100. I have had my current bike, Z 750 for 2 1/2 years and refuse to part with it.

Don't knock it! I bet Honda would be VERY interested! Knew a bloke over in Northampton, had an XJ900, that he went despatching on, kept clean and dealer serviced. It clocked up 250k miles and Yamaha paid for a full strip and rebuild, just so they could guage the wear and tear. and you know wot? there was hardly any, because the bike was looked after without being thrashed to bits!

I've had 'MiNE', my T140V Triumph Bonneville for 23 years. I've had a couple of other bikes durin' that time but they were only bought when 'MiNE' was off the road for some time.

The CX500 I've had for about 3 weeks and 1000 miles. I've still got my first "big" bike, and intend to keep it for life (mine, and it's) although, that's only been about 3 years so far! :p Yamaha XJ700 X maxim X import, one of not many in the country and I believe the only watercooled XJ model Yamaha made. didn't know that when i bought it, then it was unusual, fast, and cool-clooking!

sportster for 1 year, kz650 for 6 months, divvy 600 rat from new 5 years and a radian 600 for a year before that.

....after riding for 8 years you'd think I'd know more about the bloody mechanics!
