hi just seen in a paper, a seal pup has had 39 pellets shot at it just for the fun of it and now its half blind, why do people do this to an animal just to get a cheap laff. :(

3 cats, including one we rescued.Anybody capable of ill treating or killing an animal for kicks will sooner or later do it to a human.

Mmmm, I love cats and can tolerate most creatures apart from spiders. I do think we should worry about taking care of people more than animals though. Thousands of children grow up orphaned/unloved and we seem to worry more about how pigs are transported?!!?!?

.. and whats wrong wiv spiders???

between me wife and I we share house with 1 dog, 2 cats, 3 rats and a snake.
easy way to sort out all the probs is compulsory sterilization worldwide.

would be nice and peaceful within 100 years.

i think people are getting more stupid each generation , what with benfit and dole helping some to breed who would otherwise just starve to death through incompetence and indolence.

thats why we keep hearing of more and more unbelieveble situations.

read all this before condemning me.

when someone commits murder, rape, theft or assualts someone.
it is a natural instinct.
a leftover from the time when humans first walked on this planet
the difference between those who carry out these acts and the rest of us is that we learn to suppress those feelings/instincts.
but although the majority of us will never murder or commit rape,
we do however often display traits which stem back 1000's of years.
alcohol breaks down those fences we have erected in our minds that keep us from acting in a certain way.
most of us have seen some guy get beaten up by another guy and all because he has a pretty girlfriend.
so man b beats up man a, thus pretty girl will now want man b. or so it would have been.
we are all territorial and to a certain degree tribal.
this is my space, you invade my space i'll kill you, today most of us don't go as far as to kill but we still respond.
football supporters are a perfect example of tribal.
team a beats team b so the supporters of a fight with b.
nothing changes, team a has still beaten team b.

if you sit down and analyse the sometimes out of character actions we take.
you will find that it all stems back to the time we first came down from the trees, so to speak.
we call ourselves human, but human is like cow, tiger, dog etc, just different names for animals.

i believe cruelty to animals should be treated a lot harsher than it is.
to many people think animals don't feel, or at least can't tell anyone.
which makes the abuser feel supreme, when in everyday life they are usually weaklings

I'm a people watcher, What draken says is pretty true....watch a group of men/women in a pub and it all boils down to setting yourself up as an attractive mate to procreate.....lets be honest here...women dress up to attract men....Why else the make up, high heels, mini skirts, low cut dresses, boob tubes, etc..... Im sure its not that comfortable wearing these things......... Why do they smear themseves with whale fats (lipstick) chemicals, (make up )....Men on the other hand like to look "dashing" IE attractive to women....aftershave, "nice" suits, fashion clothes, flash cars, etc....(not for me ) Wer'e still animals at heart and will remain that way as thats the way evoloution plans it...

I on the other hand dont play those games and for me at least, as an individual, dont ever have problems attracting the oposite sex, as im more of a conquest for women.....Works for me every time.....

(now sits back and waits for the retaliation from the girlies)

Excellent grammer and eloquency never stopped a punch in the face. We only try to fool ourselves into believing we are not animals.

Among many career changes, I did consider being an RSPCA inpsector. But the bottom line would've been me ending up on a GBH charge!

My missus supports ILPH, The Dogs Trust, Guide Dogs for the Blind, Etc. So we went off to the ILPH a few weeks ago, (eing local and opposite Snetterton Market.) You should see the state in which some of those animals come in to the sanctuary! It beggars belief just how cruel "civilized" human beings can be!

There's been a lot of TV coverage recently about Animal Testing. Ok I don't agree with it, but it's a fact of life that it's a necessary evil. However, this could be easily rectified by all those, inside doing life stretches! At least, they would be contributing something back to society!

exactly the reason i did'nt do the same thing.

civilised is an odd word! what does civilised mean?
considering the way we act in everyday life.

i am guilty of some of these things myself.
we eat meat using teeth more designed to eat vegetation.
we pollute the air with various chemicals.
we knowingly cut down forests which produce the very oxygen we breath.

imagine this planet with no humans on it. yes maybe there would be a dominent animal, but would it knowingly destroy its home.and kill other animals just for the hell of it.

i've always believed that this world would be a perfect place to live if we were not already here.
and another thing our planet is 2/3 rds water so why is it called earth?
