Well, according to The Independent.

'Intelligence chiefs are warning Tony Blair that Britain faces a full-blown Islamist insurgency, sustained by thousands of young Muslim men with military training now resident in this country...
'A well-connected source said there were more than 100,000 people in Britain from "completely militarised" regions, including Somalia and its neighbours in the Horn of Africa, and Afghanistan and territories bordering the country. "Every one of them knows how to use an AK-47," said the source. "About 10 per cent can strip and reassemble such a weapon blindfolded, and probably a similar proportion have some knowledge of how to use military explosives. That adds up to tens of thousands of men."'

Plausible or paranoid fantasy?

I would say that the numbers are plausible, as for having to worry about all of them i dont think so. There will be those who will join in just for the sake of it or because they are so narrow minded that they believe everything the extremists preach.

From them figures i would say that the numbers of people willing to blow themselves up, (the type of terrorism that we have little defence against) would be in the very low hundreds if they even reach a hundred. but that is me just speculating.

Apparently that Abel Bakri Mohamed or whatever he's called who's just gone on holidy to Egypt said he is planning to return to the UK unless he hears different from the British government.

John Prescott replied '' I hope he makes it a very long holiday''

Not too often I would cheer for Prescott but I did when I heard that.

ooh a SLR,
bit out dated now what with the technology fro messrs heckler and koch
i prefer the lighter and ambidextrous p90
lightweight
fits neatly in backpack
top loading
plastic magazine
shell eject left/right depending on whether user is left/right handed
comes with various accesories
twin loader for more fire power(like the old tommy gun)
recoilless
easy used by female due to its alround usability
easily hold one in each hand and run a full mag of each in 3 seconds
armour pierceing shells available
laser sights etc
some pics attached
far better than a heavy old bulky and cumbersome thing like that
you`d be better of with a high velocity tactical sniper rifle so you could sit down and shoot from a distance....
so i`m told any way
all info above courtesley supplied form WWW.

On a Friday evening late in July a small group of young Asian men gathered secretly in the grounds of a Victorian manor house on the edge of Epping Forest, east of London, to listen to their master.

Debden House, a property run as a bed-and-breakfast and campsite by Newham borough council, was chosen because they were running scared.

Earlier that day police had arrested the remaining three suspects for the failed 21/7 London bombing. While millions of Britons watched the dramatic final siege on television, members of the Saviour Sect had come to hear a different interpretation of the day’s events.

OOOOO weapons of choice Can i be greedy.

One of Messers Heckler and Kochs G3's to start with
they also do the MP5 that is nice for closer work
and just in case i think i would choose one of Sig Sauer's P226.

With you on the 7.62 round Dougie, i loved the SLR then they gave me the Airfix kit they jokingly call the SA80.
