my 750 shadow only fires on one cylinder until its warmed up and then the other one kicks in i checked the spark plugs this mornin and when i pressed the starter some fluid came out the spark plug hole cant determine whether it was oil/coolant/petrol or all three the other three spark plugs were ok what causes this and is it a big job also because it still runs well will i be doing much damage if i continue to ride it while i wait for the exhausts on me other bike
cheers

if its coolant itll end up in the oil, depending how much it is, if its fuel sounds like you have a dodgey carb allowing in too much if suffiecient thatll also end up in the oil, but you need to identify what it is then you will have a better idea where it is coming from

head gasket, valve stems..crack some where...........a gamble to run something you know isnt right..........

Start with the simple stuff.
Check all fluid levels
Check for fuel leaks
and get compression tests for both a cold and hot engine.

i've determined it is coolant spurting out when i take the sparkplug out am i right in thinking this is the head gasket that needs replacing
thanx

Yep.

And the head must be properly torqued down when you replace it, and torques checked after 100 miles.

ok...judge me if you must .But someone round the pub mentioned "K Seal" that you just add to your coolant and depending on the size of the leak this stuff will seal it and it seems to have worked ...theres no coolant coming out through the spark plug hole and it starts on both each time i'm at work tonight and this is when i normally have most trouble after leaving it stood in the bike shed for 12 hrs so tomorrow morning will be the real test
(budget biking at its best)
