without a doubt the stupidist thing i have ever done is carry a dog the best part of 200 miles from here in brum to my in laws house in poole. this happened in the early eighties before we had a car,(obviosly) me and the wife achieved this by her wearing the biggest donkey jacket (whatever happened to them?) i could find and simply wrapping it around the old pooch.we did this on a guzzi california and the dog absolutely loved it! we lost our nerve howevever, and the return trip was done by train....oh, i've also carried a carp in a bucket to the vets(whitespot) i swear to god its all true. regards mark.

Chased by a copper for 7 miles and never noticed. He said he was doin 150mph and i was pulling away from him. Got let off to
When my Dads Aorta went i did from my house to my parents back in Mid Wales (181 miles) in 2 hours and 15 minutes, in the rain the day before xmas eve.
Erm, quite a few things i suppose, part of the fun of having a bike.

Clutch cable snapped on my sidecar outfit, phoned a mate to come and give me a tow. The bastard was doing 70 on the dual carriageway for about 5 miles, scared the crap out of me.

Way back when in the early 80's I tried to outrun the old bill on my XS250. I was on L plates and had a mate on the back up the A3. This copper was on the hard shoulder standing outside his car and my mate intimated that he might like to go and practice at making babies. It was late at night and I took the next exit and found a long driveway to sit in for hours. When I thought it was safe I made my mate walk home and I left him to it. Never did get caught. Phew!

Cor... er i bet this one will be popular. Im gonna put more than one. I believe I have many because I have been excessively stupid for a extended period of itme..

Cross the cat n fiddle (for the first time) on a sp400 at 2am with 6v headlight but a 12v bulb cos it kept popping them, and it was foggy, and low beam had already blown on the way there. And to go meet a girly...

Working in wales taking supplies up to security guards in winter marooned on sites on a xl125 with it all in a rucksack(and I never considered that it might break down, and I didnt have a phone.) And getting black knees n fingers in the process on one occasion..

Getting escorted out of monaco for wheelying the sp400 through the tunnels under the prince's palace (but it was such a lovely roar reverberating from the open pipe officer) / riding the sp to monaco in the first place. After a severe telling off for not having a left hand mirror..

Hitting a tractor that turned right suddenly with no signals as I overtook it, en route to a bike show on the bimota, and keeping it upright and not bothering to stop (well, I didnt damage the tractor tyre and if I did even better the blind f*cker, and I'd have been guilty without having to say a word with sussex porkers) and nailing it with my swollen knee out in the breeze to try and chill it to keep the pain down (just imagine the mitigation for speeding..) and arriving half a hour before my mates. Then riding it two hours home again at the end of the day because I didnt trust my mate to not crash it and having to be lifted onto it.... And the owners club not wanting it on the stand because it had this great big strip of tractor tyre rubber all the way down one side :)

Theres a excessively naughty speed one too, but the safety gnomes come even here so Ill keep that one to spoken converstations ;)

went to a do years ago with the intention of staying the night.
it was not to be.
had to go home but as i was riding a kwak 750h2 triple i did'nt know if i had enough fuel.
now you do things when your drunk that a little voice tells you not to do but you do it anyway.
i sat on the bike flipped the fuel cap open and shook the bike, no, still could'nt tell.
so what do you do?. thats right you take out your cigarette lighter hold it real close to the open tank and shake it again whilst peering in.

it was at this point that i noticed i was suddenly alone, and that little voice was now screaming at me.
and i threw the lighter away as if it was a scorpion in my hand.
i've never toched alcohol from that day to this 20 years now

if you mean carrying things i would have to say a landrover rear axle on a c70 was not fun

several mega trips on this poor thing as well, and i rode 7 miles in thick solid snow on same c70 for a training course only for a instructer to turn up in 4X4 to turn up and say... he had to go to course as he knew i was only silly so and so to attemopt to go.

My ship was based in Portland Dorset and I was seeing a girl in Sheffield (that's another story) I used to get weekend leave starting a 0800 on the Saturday morning and I had to be back on board ship by 0745 Monday. I used to go to Sheffield and back on my 250 Super Dream. It wasn't love, just lust as a 17 year old lad. :D :D I even took the L plates off one weekend and gave a mate a lift home who lived in Sheffield, that was fun.

This is the type of thing I do on a daily basis without the help of alcohol, folk at work can normally see one coming and make me sit down for 10 minutes while they thrust a large, strong coffee into my hands!!!:D

Aren't you going to mention the barrier escapade Mrs R? :p

Mrs Reject
23-07-2004, 04:03 PM
Non!!! Oh alright then :D
I woz riding through the Thurrock toll booth tunnel and I thought I'd be clever and leg it through with Mitch rather than wait for the barrier to come down again and go back up again. Anyway I was obviously not quick enough because the barrier came down on my head and broke off - yes the whole barrier broke off all six feet of it!!!
I didn't have a license at the time and so didn't dare stop! I made a run for it past the traffic police literally wearing the barrier across the handlebars and rode until well out of sight of cops before I dared stop and throw the feckin' thing off the bike!!!
No doubt leaving traffic cops and barrier folk waving their fists at me as I rode away.

An ah rode the fuker back fae the forth rd bridges to fife 25 miles nae lights an it started raining. One the scarest experiances yet as we hit speeds of 40/50 an ah could only sit an pray.
