Following on from Drackens snake thread, just want to conduct a little research here...

Right, I take sugar in my coffee and have a sweet tooth, but I rarely if ever get bitten by the gnats etc..
Rik doesnt take sugar and doesnt eat many sweets gets bloody eaten alive any chance they get.. I also know another girl who doesnt take sugar and she also gets bitten all the time..
How about you lot, does the sugar theory hold up?

Me - I'm veggie, don't take sugar, = don't get bitten.
My bloke - meat eater, 3 x sugars in coffee, = bitten plenty

me meat eater, 2 sugar in tea, hardly ever touched
shaz meat eater , 2 sugar in tea, bitten loads...worse, if bitten by bee ,wasp, horse fly ect in the wrong place, neck or near a vain, and not injected quickly , she can die :( she got bite on the leg last year in france by something. an area about 5" round swelled up a bit and went as hard as stone, was like that for a week :eek:

Drink fizzy juice (lots!),eat meat (lots!),don't get bit too much,unless I go up the West Highlands.However,the West Highland Midgie is known as one of the most evil,vicious,nasty little feckers on this planet! :mad:

Like me meat :D , dont eat many sweets at all, never take sugar in drinks and dont get bitten

go to greece regular
use a spray called OFF made by johnsons NEVER been bitten

Also use it while fishing in UK again never been bitten

eat meat 11/2 sweetner in tea/coffee had 1 bite in 7 yrs

but Belize is a different story after army supplied us with sticks of ****e posing as mozzy defence DIDNT work :eek:

Me Meat eater, 2 sweeteners in Tea/coffee. If i get bitten (rarely) the fekkers either die of alcohol poisoning or I kill'em!

I walk around with a bug gun in a low slung holster, me!

Fat, fifty, type 2 diabetic rarely bitten except by horseflies seems as soon as I walk out the door and show any skin wham one latches on :eek:

Never got bitten as a kid in Hong Kong, rest of family bit to pieces!
A neg blood group, I think the little buggers prefer positive blood, thats my theory!

Veggie, love me chocolate (although don't get to eat much of it coz 1 bar = 32 bars a sore tummy, an' it goes straight to ma hips :p ) - rarely get bit, an' even when I do they don't show

i think it has more to do with how ya body reacts rather than how much you get bitten
plenty ppl get bit n dont get lumps and huge reactions,,,,
more to do with hystamines in ya body rather than how much ya bit
