Local was packed last night, all sorts up there but mostly couples etc. Me and a few mates were sat by the pool table talkin about events in London, what we'd like to do to the bombers etc (Usual beer talk) when i noticed this bloke sort of hovering about us lookin a bit uptight. Anyway, it was a pain to get a round in so we were doubling up on the rounds to save time. Whilst me and a mate were getting in the beers this bloke suddenly walks over to us all and starts blathering on about he doesnt want us to kick the **** out of him, how he hates terrorists, how he loves Britain blah blah blah and how he's Lithuanian.
A couple of things confused me. First, why did he come to us when there were so many for want of a better word nicer lookin people up the pub? We are all 6 foot plus, tattoos, cropped hair so on so forth. Surely if he was that worried he would have avoided us????? Secondly, i guess im getting soft in me old age. I hate people touching me, hugging me etc, especially people i dont know. This bloke looked like a feckin rabbit caught in a cars headlights and was actually shaking and he kept grabbing at our arms etc and asking if he was ok to be there. It actually made me feel, i dunno, made me feel bad that we scared someone so much and for no real reason. Ive never considered myself as looking nasty, ok, im a big bloke, got a bit of a history etc but i suppose a lot of us have. But i aint no mass murderer etc.
Weird, bloody weird and to be honest its made me think about the way i look, should i try and soften the way i look etc? Was this bloke just a paranoid prick? I dunno. Not many people actually know me on here or have met me so theres no real point in asking but were we doin summat wrong or was this bloke just a pillock?

Sorry mate, I didn't mean to offend. I scan read the thread and this bit jumped out at me, and my wierd sense of humour took over:

Anyway the bloke sounded a bit of a plonker, so ignore it!

And I'm too hungover to argue this morning!

dont let him get to you, if all immigrants were of the same attitude, grateful to be here, then we wouldn't have the bombings

maybe he thinks that people want some revenge and your 'look' is the look of people who may do it.

if he's prepared to come over and do this, i'd say he's a genuine immigrant who appreciates being here, took guts too.
i suppose not all immigrants want to do us harm, just the races that had anything to do with what happened SHOULD root out the bad ones.

Yeah, to be honest im to bloody set in me ways to change but it just got me thinkin really.
Its funny about how you look etc but we were in a pub in Oldham during the riots. This bloke walks over to us and he's all togged up in brand spankin new clothes (got the creases from the packet in his shirt etc). I think he thought it was the typical clobber of white extremists etc as he was wearing a stone island shirt, rockport boots and some Henri Lloyd jeans. Well thats the kinda stuff you'd catch me wearing out and about in the pubs, same as me mates. Anyway, out of the blue he starts prattling on that he's in the BNP and calls us brothers, what kind of tattoos have we got etc? Feckin hilarious really cause it turns out the blokes a bloody reporter. We could see it a mile off and some of the **** he came out with was just unbelievable. Its funny how people asses you on your dress etc aint it. And some of you think ya just get treated different cause you wear black leather. :D

In your original statement you said you were 'Talking' about giving the bombers a kicking and that the guy was close by while you did this. He may have been a muslim, as a lot of Eastern Europeans are, and felt vulnerable and ashamed of what had happened. Even though it wasn't his fault, he may have felt that your remarks were aimed at him. If this was the case, then it did take a lot of bottle to come and speak to you. As it happens, it's not that important, be yourself and if others don't like it....... TOUGH ;)

I agree sort of. You shouldnt worry about how you look but it is just possible you might reconsider talking loudly in public among people you dont know about kicking **** out of people. If you are really unlucky you could even get nicked for inciting racial hatred or threatening behaviour or something.

If my English wasnt great and a bunch of big hard looking blokes were gobbing off about kicking foriegners in, I think Id fuck off sharpish so it took some balls for him to approach you but foriegners do funny things sometimes, their culture is different so they react different. Then again maybe he was a bit "special".
