The original Rock cafe in brum.
There where 4 rock pubs in brum at the time. The Costermongers,The Pen and Wig, The Foundry and the Rock Cafe.
You could park your bike in the grass area round the back. If your familiar with birmingham you will have marvelled at the local arcitecture.lol
If you went in on the bus you'd get pished on a summers evenin lay on your back lookin up singin the buck rogers tune.
Looks like a set picture from the series all quasi futuristic an stuff.
We still got the costers and the Pen an Wig (now the scruffy murphy's) are generally full of young rock folk but we lost the Rock Cafe to a lap bar.
The Gallows is a goodun tho only been open bout 3 years.

the white hart in dumfries ..many a year ago it was THE rock pub in the town ...(many will say it was pinky an perkys ) but for the bands and the banter it was the hart

now the white hart is still there but now owned by the daughter and all trendy and just not the same as it used to be...the upstairs has changed from the dark, ogre painted rock club with excelent bands to a regular dj set every sat night and themed dance nights

sorry i prefer the old hart

The Lea Hall Tavern in Brum was a proper bikers pub.Raining outside, then bring your bike in and change the oil.Guess what? they shut it down done it up threw us out and......its now been knocked down and houses built on the site.I also remember The Knights Arms in Porthcawl South Wales. We used to go there most bank holidays a brilliant bikers pub.I feel realy old all of a sudden, don't make bikers ,pubs, bikes, music, etc like they used to,do they?
