Seconded.. :(
I take it they don't get any points 4 catchin' murderers or shoplifters then - sorry I forgot speeding in the country is far worse than shagging children or beating up old people

When will they realise that by increasing the national speed limit by 10 or 15 mph would have the same effect as opening another lane on the motorway.
People would be on the roads for shorter times and life would be great.
And! if speeding is so antisocial and evil why allow bikes and cars to go faster than 70mph.
I imagine its cos of the above point. but its wrong to say it.

How about this then? It made me PMSL : http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/3082922.stm
I cannot see a legitimate reason why a measurement systems is required.
Surely if the role of a police officer is to deal with speeding motorists, he should simply be concentrating on catching everyone he sees speeding.
What are they trying to do, encourage their offices to look harder?

Careful raising those sorts of points John, that decision needs to be a moral one made by the rider. ;)

Those points can be raised because the politicians know that all of us doin 70 mph and no faster is implausable.
thats why they charge us for going fast. they know we do it they know they can make cash off us for it too.
We can shout it from the rooftops but they would'nt dare make cars slower, well not for a while yet.
They know at present if they did there would chaos on the roads.

First time was a caution, the second time was a £100 plus 30 quid admin costs. 6 points on an sp30
I was fully aware of what the speed limit in that area was but like you say the rider was in control of the machine in the conditions i felt it was safe to do so.
There where no junctions and it was a sunny day. the copper was hidden well and truly. And it was well out of town.
I have no argument with speed restrictions in town btw.
