Just been talking to Grav, first time in TEN YEARS believe it or not (Gulp! Obviously we've emailed, but that only started when the old 100% forum started)... it's got me thinking

I know this is a long shot, but I'm wondering if anyone's got any pics from a few rallies in 1990-93 oop north - the rallies in particular are:
- Troon Smugglers MCC, 3 Sisters Rally (glencoe) 1990 - especially of the Rally virgin (me!)
- any of the Blackpool Roakers rallies at the Lions Club, Lytham, especially the Laughing Lightbulb (especially of a nutter on a red GPz305)
- Stalybridge MCC, wot no moon rally
- Team Sober, Pissed as a Newt (at Mick Brittens, Farsley)
- Suzuki Owners Club (same site, same year)
- the Snuff Divers Rally in Kendal (around '92)
- East Durham MCC sh1thouse Door Rally (my fave at that time, did that every year)
- Saltire MCC, Arran Invasion Rally (the summer that James Hunt died, either 92 or 93)

A year or so before meeting Mrs R (that was nearly four years ago now), I thought I'd never ride a bike again - since I sold my lovely XS750 lowrider that I'd got half finished - and so threw away my collection of rally badges and patches. Sadly, any photos I had, got lost in various moves

Or if anyone knows what happened to the Four Aces MCC (Denholme) - whether they are still going or what? - of which I was a member around that time (I was known as Beaver!), I'd love to try and bring back a few memories.

Cheers

I will ask Garry as he's been on the rally scene since the bog was a trench at rallies, and will ask around seeing as we live near the east durham area.

Good luck finding the pics:)

Them thar pics bring back some memories..............

Nice to see a pic of Jesus again, thanks for that Tex.

I'm in the same predicament as Mitch, every rally photo from that decade were kept by my ex wife when we split. One thing I still have is the trophy for the tyre roll contest at the Wot No Moon Rally, '91. Ahh the joys of being young and foolish. :D

I'm getting scared here.......

I was at the Wot No Moon in 1990, but for some strange reason I don't seem to have any piccies from it.

I used to get the bus back from Manchester with Sumo, when my bike was off the road. I've hardly seen him since 1990.

I've got piccies from the Kicking Donkey, Spread 'Em & Park It, Brighouse & District, Smugglers Dog and Ghostfarters rallies from that era, if they're of any interest.

Cheers,

Byrnie

Hiya mate, bin out of commission for a while due to sickness, but I'm hopin' to get back on the scene as soon as I get a bike. Check out my e-mail in classifieds if you can help.

Some of you eagle-eyed oldies might also recognise Plez and Sleaze from the Roakers and Sparky from Barnsley (the town, not the club!).

Btw, I was prospectin for SMC on the 1990 Moon Rally. It'd be cool to see some pics of the 4 Aces (anyone know what Goat's doin?), Saltire, Roakers (is Smartie still riding?), Wyld Catz, Freedom Riders, Silent Few, and anyone else who knows me from the nineties.

Unfortunately our official photographer was Jesus and a lot of the pics have gone missing since he went on the big run in the sky. :(

Btw, Bernie, the last I heard Sumo had got hooked up with some woman and flew south. I'd like to see some of your Smuggler's Dog pics, I can't remember if I did the 1990 one, but I definitely did at least two in the early nineties. The pics I've put up are ones I've got scanned on my computer, I'll have to dig thru my stuff and see if I've got any more.

Has anyone got any pics of the Rock and Blues 1990-94?

Is Sparky still around? Not seen him for years.

Tex

Heh heh. I was deflowered by the Freedom Riders on the '90 Moon Rally. I wasn't a rally virgin, but it was my last night prospectin for SMC b4 I got my patch so Ebo thought it would be funny if the Freedom Riders initiated me...

Cling filmed naked to the marquee post in front of 400 bikers and drenched in beer, eggs, and all kinda crap...then one of you had the bright idea to cut an hole in the cling film so everyone could laugh at my winter-shrivelled todger.:p:D

Wish I had some pics of that!

Haven't seen Sparky since Jesus' funeral Grav, what about Harry? I'm still wearin' one of his tats! :o

Was it you who got 'dropped' before they could wrap the clingfilm round the post? I remember a couple of lads having it done and one falling over. Having been clingfilmed round both arms and legs, he was unable to break the fall.

I was sat watching. My philosophy was 'I don't know First Aid, so I'll stay out of the way of those that do'.

The guy went down hard and landed on his face, and he was knocked out for a very short while. Was quite scary til he came round.

I'll scan and post some piccies on this thread as soon as I find a spare minute. Most of them are Spread Eagle crowd, but it would be interesting to see who's in the background.

Cheers,

Byrnie.

Well, I did both "three sisters" rallies at Glenoe, one of the "wot, no moon" rallies and a couple of "snuff divers" (and "mint cake") rallies but unfortunately I've no photos of any of them.

The four aces are no more and haven't been together for a long time. Some are now with other clubs, a few are no longer with us and I don't know about the rest. Pretty vague but that's all I know...
