I wanna restore the DT but not as original as its goin to be used in Classic Enduros hopefully. I got the thing up and running last week and freed off the clutch etc, she runs great even with the head gasket blowing a bit and the reed induction rubber being perished. Im gonna do the head gasket today and im hoping a near neighbour well do the honours converting it to 12 volt. Even the 2 stroke oil pump works fine. Once thats done theres no reason i shouldnt get it mot'd. What i want for it are trick bits, maybe old literature etc. Basically anyhting to do with a 1976 DT250C.
Tell ya what, she is as sweet as a nut after a good bit of work and its revived my interest in bikes again. Ha! I love old air cooled 2 strokes, they sound great. :D
Anyway, any info on websites of interest, bike dealers etc would be greatly appreciated. :D

Sure did Liz and im havin great fun rippin up and down the lane across from mine and out in the feild. Well funny :D Did have one misshap though. Was pulling a wheelie and the chain jumped off, bent the end of the swinging arm and broke the magnesium chain guard. Serves me right for not tightening the chain etc i suppose. All sorted now though :D
